An expansive world with virtually no end to the activities in which you can participate. GTA V Online is simultaneously tremendous fun, exciting, and hopelessly frustrating with modders invading every public session. Every. Public. Session. I am astounded that Rockstar has allowed GTA Online to be DOMINATED by modders for several years running now. Seemingly with no relief in sight. I love this game, and it frequently pulls me back in to it, only for the result to be same every time.... a string of ruined sell missions and public lobby apocalypses drive me away for another six months until I forget why I left. Rinse and repeat.

How do you ♥♥♥♥ up Doom?! Well, Bethesda found a way. Instead of fragging your way through hell (on earth) your primary duty now is juggling cooldowns to keep your ammo flowing. Doom Eternal makes you feel more like an accountant than the doom slayer. Ya dun ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, Bethesda.

I'm six hours in to this game and have mixed feelings about it. The graphics are great. This game looks really, really good.

The animations match the verbal dialogue very well (except the crying baby), even if the teeth stand out too much. The animations for characters in the cut scenes are noticeably unnatural though. Anytime two people are physically interacting the animations are almost comically lumbering, ungraceful and synthetic. For as good as the design, models and textures are, they should have used motion capture for the animations because they are laughably poor at times (BJ's mother and father scuffle, the handling of the infant in the Neu York tower scene).

The level design thus far is counter-intuitive; you have to go up to go down and vice versa when navigating maps. Minor gripe. Paths are non-linear (which is good). There also seems to be a lack of realistic scale in areas (how big is this damn sub, and how is half of it separated by a foot locker?). How many nazi's went unnoticed for months on this sub?!

The camera is even more nauseating than previous installments though. In addition to the forced bob_pitch and bob_roll (which is turned to 11 in this family of games), the camera now rocks and tilts after turning left or right. I cannot conceive of any logical reason for this. It's disorienting and unnecessary. It adds nothing positive to the game, story or the experience in general.

Movement is decent. Strafing, running, turning, shooting are all functional. Physical interaction with the environment could use polishing though (jumping, climbing ladders, hoisting).

Aiming is okay and reliable. Shooting is decent , although off-hand aim in dual wield is a bit wild and wasteful. The heavy weapons are fun so far.

The weapon wheel is absolutely horrid in design and function. It would be a non-issue if you could scroll through weapons faster than molasses in January, but nope.... you might as well file FOIA requests for your weapons because that's how long it takes to cycle through them.

The story is fairly straightforward thus far, with an unusually modern social conscience for a retro period setting.

This game is good if you get it on sale. Not for $60 though. I can't imagine replaying this game due to the poor camera and pitch/roll settings.
