Very much the emotional roller coaster we call the Green Hell. Bumpy and fun. Something to re-learn again.

I've had a love-hate relationship with this game for a long time, sadly its been more of the latter as of late. The devs have made it abundantly clear that they do not care about you, they just want your money. And at every opportunity have been neutering ways to earn SL so you'd have to spend more money at premium time and premium vehicles.

Maybe fix the economy and listen to your community, instead of refusing to take ANY responsibility for your own BLATANT disregard towards your OWN game community's well-being. Blaming players who've spend hundreds if not thousands of hours playing this game and then trying to once more make us drink the poison chalice? Enough's enough.

Edit 1st of August: The game is starting to steer in the right direction again, but if they ♥♥♥♥ over the economy again in 1-2 years time... We'll be back.

A captivating story, like the depth of the characters. The bugs are more funny than game breaking.

If you've played the original Rome and haven't really touched newer Total War titles, this is one hell of a nostalgia trip. It is essentially just an enhanced take on the original. It keeps true to it's roots with some tweaks over the original but it IS NOT as well balanced as Shogun 2 for example.

So, if you've been eyeing this out from the sidelines and were a fan of the original or just like Roman culture in general, get it. If you want something closer to Shogun 2 in terms of purely gameplay and balance of factions, I'd say skip it.

If you have nothing else to do in your life, or even if you work full-time. This is a game for you, it'll siphon all your social activity, free time and will to get your sorry state out of the bed.

10/10 would play again

Best way to put it into a TL;DR is by stating that this is like Rainbow Six type of gameplay mixed with a story that was the sole reason I played this game through and enjoyed it for it's uncensored gruesome nature.

War isn't rosy, nor is it cozy. It's crazy. And this game displays exactly that very, very well. You can behead people with sniper rifle, pop their heads off with a shotgun and turn them into bloody giblets with explosives.

But that's not the reason you play this game, no. The gameplay is very mediocre 6-7/10 as one would rate it. It's the story that keeps you wanting to play and find out what happens next more than anything. The characters are all well crafted into believable and realistic feeling experience as you play the game and advance within the story. The witty comments, yelling in combat and the terror is all well displayed and feels authentic. The soldiers you fight against yell orders loud and clear, just like you would in combat to relay the info. The game just feels right atmosphere wise.

If you're looking for a game that displays how f*cked up a war can be when there's no clear answers, and how it can affect your morale and choice making, and how ruthless some things you must decide on can make you feel like a complete d*ck for doing so. This game extremely well relays the weight of your choices, if you f*ck up, you will feel and see what it will cause.

A must buy to people who want to experience something different, and enjoy a really well made story.

Do you like FPS games? Do you also fancy playing MMORPG's? Do you want something that combines both?
Firefall is the answer, you can either play 1st person and 3rd person and choose between the two which suits you better and kill enemies with multiple types of frames (classes) which all have different abilities and weapons for different tasks, such as recon frame which specializes in long range combat, dreadnaught frame which specializes in tanking and dealing lots of damage upfront face-to-face, Biotech for healing and poisoning your enemies, etc.

This game might become repetitive after a good while, just like any RPG, but it has some neat features which might or might not keep you interested in playing it for a long time. For what it is though, it's certainly a great game and worth a try at least. Because it differs from the usual MMORPG's with it's post-apocalyptic Sci-Fi world, it's a good experience to anyone who wants to try something new.

8.5/10, a solid RPG with a unique twist.
