Rhythm fpd to metal, fun game. Fairly short and not a lot of replay value for me personally, but still probably worth the purchase, particularly if its on sale.

They've done a lot to fix this game. The basic gameplay has always been great, but the new talent trees add a lot of complexity and weapon fixes, balances, etc. have been good. The crafting needs major overhauls to the design philosophy and the monetization is ♥♥♥♥. But it's a FatShark game and this seems to be their MO. If you can stand it, the core game is damn good and worth the price and we can only hope that they continue to improve the game.

At least we've got the modding community fixing their mistakes.

Interesting game in the vein of The Talos Principle with gameplay/puzzles between that of Talos and Portal. In many ways, it's like a serious version of the Portal games. The puzzles weren't super challenging but were fun and creative. I really enjoyed the story, listening to the extra recordings and reading the tidbits left around certain areas. My biggest complaint would be that there are far too many "interactable objects" that have no relevance and can cause you to waste time looking at everything possible, much of which is useless.

Don't believe the cowards. This game is very good, but it isn't for the faint of heart. This is Dark Souls meets Left 4 Dead.

There is no matchmaking, so you'll need to find a team on your own outside of the game. But honestly, you don't want to go into this game with a pug and no voice comms.

Our group went in largely without spoilers, testing and learning the mechanics by trial and error. It's been a blast.

While I believe the game should be balanced around 4 players, there doesn't seem to be any re-balancing around other player numbers and I think they should add that. But hey, it's early access, I'll give the devs some time. Or maybe ♥♥♥♥ you, git gud. That's up to them.

Other than that, people who say there isn't much in the way of story or world building aren't looking very hard. This game won't hold your hand, but there are a lot of hints and clues strewn throughout the game to keep you interested in what exactly is going on here.

Absolutely would recommend, but this isn't a game for everyone (and that shouldn't be taken as a challenge).

This is the puzzle game's puzzle game. There's no story to speak of and no hand holding. The Witness teaches you by having you observe and do. It will never explain to you what you're supposed to do. And yet, you will know what it asks of you.

The Witness is challenging in a way I haven't seen in puzzle games in a very long time. I took a lot of screenshots to save myself time backtracking, my modern version of taking notes like I used to do playing games growing up. For those that have found a lot of popular puzzle games fun yet lacking any real challenge, The Witness will inevitably stump you somewhere through your playthrough. You'll figure it out eventually, but you won't be able to just smash through everything it throws at you.

The game is infused with a philosophy, possibly even described as a conversation. It's hidden throughout the game, but the times when you find those hidden gems are incredibly fulfilling. Those pieces, like the entire game itself - from the puzzles to the island - are all selected with much care to how everything in this game fits together.

The Witness really is a masterpiece of a puzzle game.

I was expecting more out of this game. There's nothing especially interesting about it. The game essentially fights for you, just walk around and make gear choices.

Overall I really enjoyed Waking Mars. It does a great job of showing how simplified ecosystems work while keeping the gameplay engaging enough to keep the player going. The story is interesting enough to keep you going even once the gameplay has become repetitive. I would have liked to have seen a stronger push at the end regarding the importance of life, particularly sentience, and how it should be treated, but Waking Mars continuously takes a light touch with its themes and there's something to be said for the strategy.

The game isn't too long, so if bang for your buck is a concern, the game is probably 5 to 7 hours long.

I really wanted to like this game. A 2D sidescrolling zombie action-platformer sounded right up my ally. Unfortunately, this game largely suffers from itself. The platforming puzzles never get hard, merely harder through means of greater punishment for mistakes which exacerbates the underlying issue rampant throughout the game of poor controls and responses, topped off by an unoriginal story.

You can pass on this one.
