This game is everything I hoped it would be. It's fun, engaging and makes for some great stories to share with your friends and a lot of funny clips to post on social media. However Sony seems to think that isn't right in the world and is requiring submitting our bio-metric data to their notoriously unsecured Playstation Network or else we can't play anymore. This game was once touted as having the ability to end the 'console wars' by its playerbase just wanting more people to play and fight against the automatons and terminids. But Sony can't help being Sony. I had a very bare bones PSN account from over a decade ago due to a requirement to play one game on an old playstation, so this really won't affect me that much. Though, I understand that a significant proportion of the people angry here can't even make a PSN account due to it simply being unavailable in their region, and so will lose the game outright in a month. We need all the reinforcements we can get our hands on and this will significantly impact the war effort.

As of 21:15 May 5 2024 PST, Sony and Playstation has cancelled their plans and will not be going forward with the mandate. Good work Helldivers. Super Earth is counting on all of us.

As of 19:30 May 10 2024 PST, Sony has yet to actually make good on their promise and unban the game in countries that were previously able to buy the game.

Short Review: The Mandalorian but you're delivering packages instead of bounties in a horror setting.
Long Review:
The Good:
This game gives you a lot of freedom to solve a simple problem of getting something to where it needs to be.
The atmosphere is fantastic. The base game play feels very smooth and rewarding. Combat feels like a jumbled mess early on until you know how to prepare for it and it felt like a big accomplishment getting the rhythm down for dealing with the human enemies as well as the ghosts. I have not had any major technical issues besides some server connection problems that have already been ironed out and can run the game at 144 fps at 1080. Vehicles and equipment feels like something important you need to take care of when you're just starting out on low resources.
The Bad:
The cut scenes kind of drag on at the start and the story feels a little flat till you know more about the setting, but the gameplay is what sold me.
The Amazing:
Finding important or key areas to place certain structures can result in little communities or meeting areas forming around it where you can leave messages for the other players passing through.

This is not a quick action game you pick up and play through at break-neck pace. The game heavily rewards preparation and steadiness instead of break-neck speed (Except on the missions that require it but you're given some warning). Worth buying just for the gameplay.

No other game on the market can give what this game does. Giant thousand person battles on a massive continent with fun weapons. If you can find a group to play with quick you'll get the most out of this game.

I initially got this game when it first entered early access. It was buggy, super laggy and basically unplayable. My friends and I dumped it and went onto something else. But coming back to it in the weeks leading up to launch, it's amazing to see how much they improved the game since early access started leading up to launch. Very few early access games have improved this much. It's stable (minus some alt-tab issues but that affects most games), not laggy, the combat's pretty fluid and there's a lot of options to go out and explore and survive. Alone or with friends. It's a great game if you're interested in multiplayer survival games with a Conan story and Dark Souls-esque combat mechanics.

Much more precision than with a stick controller. And you can heavily customize all the extra buttons on it.
