I played the original and it was good until it went pay to win, this has all pay to win elements removed. So it's good. (Posted 1 December, 2019)

I saw this was on sale and had to make a quick review to save people money. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!

It's the quickest refund I've ever applied for. the game is awful avoid at all costs.

In the darkest reaches of space there wages an endless war.
Blood and gore flow freely, the smell of burnt flesh and charred bone lingers in the nostrils and you can taste your own blood in your mouth and throat. You look up and through the curtain of smoke and the haze of constant pain you see a hero shining bright; the space marine. he has come to wipe clean the xenos and heretics from the universe and he will do it with steel in his hands and valour in his heart.
He reaches over to you gripping you firmly by the shoulders and hoists you to your feet; leaning in so close to you that you can see the many scars of countless battles etched his face and he smiles and whispers "Do not EVER play Eternal Crusade, Its the worst game, buy Space Marine..."

Awesome little game with smooth combat and fun gameplay, a great game to play between gaming sessions or when hanging around on steam for friends to group up for session.

This game is awesome, If you like any of the following things you should buy and play this game.

1. Lord of the rings (Duh)
2. Fantasy action adventure
3. Stealth games
4. Assassins Creed (This very similar)
5. Killing orcs, lots and lots of orcs
6. Great Graphics (free HD texture pack dlc)
7. Golem (No spoiler but he's in it at some point)
8. Violence
9. If you get to here and none of the earlier 8 are for you well...just leave.

This game should've been the jewel in the crown of the Arkham trilogy, instead its a sub par Batmobile sim, with old Arkham content forced into a uninteresting and stale story and sandbox. This is before we talk about the awful, AWFUL state the game is still in (yep two awfuls were needed).
I originally bought this on release and it was unplayable, they pulled it patched it, and patched it, oh and patched it; to the point where I could play without wanting write horrible reviews on steam.
I finished the game and felt no desire to 100% it so I moved on, few months later I upgraded and bought a whole new pc (yep upgraded), at this point there was some new dlc so I went back, this game runs worse on my new pc than it did on my old one...WHAT!!!! whoever they have got patching this game needs to really think after so many patches should the game really be in a worse state??

If I was eating at a table with my fellow crewmates, having a few laughs and a smoke then I suddenly started convulsing in pain on my back until this game ripped its way up through my organs and burst forth from my rib cage only to run away and never be seen again....I'd be pleased.

At some point in my life I may want to play a game that

1. Isn't fun
2. Has the worst camera angle of any gametype
3. Has cool characters that I "shouldn't play as"
4. Feels like a job (without wages)

At which point i'll stop playing games altogether.

Had this on xbox 360, and it was great. I really enjoyed it and thought "oh i hope they do more of these"

3 years later it pops up on steam sale for £2.79, WHAT!!!!! BUY BUY BUY!!!

Graphics blow the 360 version out of the water and its still one of the most fun singleplayer games available, I'm not usually the type to play through action games more than once but this is a thrill even after a few years.

There is no reason anyone who likes fun not to buy this; or likes video games or even if you only like headshots with a bow and arrow.
