Overhyped, underdelivered.

And that taunting "I need someone to show me my place in all this" when you start up the game.

Empty husk of the Star Wars lego games that came before it, stripped of the very things that made them fun.

1200 collectible bricks yet maybe 20 of them were cleverly hidden, while most of them was just a chore to get to.
Not because of difficulty but sheer distance you had to travel from starting.

Action sensitive controls.
Isn't something many other people point out - while having many actions mapped to a single button is a great idea when executed correctly, this game misses the mark by a long mile - so many times have I wanted to just alt-f4 after 5 attempts to use a button how I wanted to use it instead of how the game thought I did.

Shooting is just not fun.
Most enemies are bullet sponges, they've added cover mechanics to a lego game for some reason, and the controls feel clunky and unresponsive eg. it takes over a second after releasing the aim trigger for the crosshair to disappear.

Flying is horrific.
I know that I come from great arcade and flight simulation games so i might be a little biased,
however I am well aware that I could never hope for something akin to Ace Combat in a lego game, nevertheless Clone Wars did flying much better regardless how clunky it was. This games flying controls make zero (0(null)) sense. And combat consists of holding fire button and aiming in the general direction of the enemy while flying as slow as possible.
It's hard to orient yourself, the ships handle like a doge hellcat on bold tires on vegetable oil covered concrete with a 1200HP tune up.

Levels are uninspired.
Short, lacking content. sure each level has 3 hidden challenges but they cut down on the amount of minikits per level and the ones you do collect are 95% one terminal or ability use away.
And if you excluded all the walking from A to B to C to D about half of the levels would be:
Watch a cinematic, listen to a character talk, cutscene of something happening, press button, kill enemy.

Walking.
Oh my god the walking, there's just so much of it I don't even feel like going in depth since there's no depth to it.

Voiced lego characters.
Make the writing really boring, most gags are haha minion funny tier of someone falling on their ass or doing a le funny face.
And the director decided that we fo shoo need the entirety of important dialogue from the movies in the game so about half of each episode is just listening to dialogue while walking.
I am well aware of the "mumble" extra, but it only proves how bad the game is written.
When you turn it on you feel like you're wasting even more time during unskippable segments because there just isn't anything interesting going on in the background.
And to remain on that topic for a little longer, the choice of actors is just bad especially for Han Solo.
His VA makes him seem like a reddit moderator would think a cool guy speaks.

And a big FU to the players who don't wish to play through the masterpiece sequel trilogy but still want to 100% some levels - unless you play the first mission as maRey Sue you cannot use Scavenger characters abilities so haha tough sheise.

Ps. I am well aware of the grammatical errors I've committed in this here review - nevertheless I cannot bring myself to put more effort into it than was put into writing the script for the levels.

TL;DR
Trust me you'll have wayyy more fun playing the complete saga or clone wars than this game.
