Fun fact, the game client doesn't actually keep track of your connection, if you ALT-F4 it will still think you're playing. So whenever your opponent suddenly stops making any moves and you just have to wait a couple of minutes, that's because they quit. Anyway unto the rest of the review,

A mobile game that is being milked to death by Hasbro. been playing on and off for years now.

Hasbro has been more and more hostile to its older and richer demographic - neckbeards like myself. New sets are more censored and politically correct. Additionally, Hasbro is trying to incorporate as many IPs into the franchise - so the lore, as it stands, is dead and irrelevant.

DO NOT spend a cent on this IP. Cards are offered through standard play and new sets are from other franchises, poorly designed, and usually banned in a couple of months after release. You can play this game with the older sets and ignore all the zoomer whale cash shop.

Also, the game is missing a lot of good game modes such as Two Handed giant and Commander. No social features at all - the number one reason this game is fun.

Broken in widescreen. There is an ultra wide fix mod but it doesn't fix the depth of field.

Good level traversal game.

Not sure why the belt fetish though, like all characters have like 20 belts each.

Eh. At the end of the day its purely gambling.

Even if ignoring the visuals, the game should not be in the "Overwhelmingly Positive" category.

Engine in trash. For example, certain crab enemies move faster if your refresh rate is above 60Hz. Needless to say, that made things frustrating. Things like Steam Deck being Unsupported and lack of achievements step from this. I question the credentials of this developer and of the Godot engine, both seem bad.

Some aspects seem slapped together. It extremely easy to go out of bounds or find empty rooms. For an assassination game, there is not a lot of approaches though out. Some levels are downright linear.

Overall this is a good schitzo game if you can buy it for like five bucks.

The normal ending is just a downer. So you look up how to get the good ending.

The good ending is behind a rather difficult puzzle, well that's boring and requires pen and paper. No thanks. So you look up solution to the puzzle, which is also long, tedious and boring.

Like, why?

You'll need a guide. This game is not accessible for casual play.

For example, there is a fighter that is willing to join you next to the hanging tree. I missed him the first two times I tried this game, which got me rolled in the next area.

More pressing is that the game has a single isometric view. Its sometimes impossible to figure out what's happening. Neverwinter Nights released 13 years before, was completely 3D, and had no such issues.

It just feels like a game from the 90s made in 2015.

I am at a point of needing a guide to figure out what to do to kill Readric. Seems I'm missing more recruits from somewhere. But I'm just not sure if its worth the bother.

This will prepare you for world war 3.

The setting, characters, dialogue, art are great.
Generally the author made a very interesting world here.

The story does allow for some decisions and branching paths, which allow re-playability.
Although the story branch involving the oven is of questionable character.

Downside is that the development seems rather slow.
Only two chapters are complete right now out of three.
Might take a couple more years to finish up the story.

This is a 2011 title that has been rushed to be released on 11/11/11.
It wasn't finished, the main quest is cut and civil was content was disappointing at best.
The game didn't look good on launch either. Crysis 1 and 2 came out before it for comparison.

Skyrim is unique in its niche so there is nothing like it, but all its components have been done by others significantly better.

What has changed with all the re-releases? Has Bethesda made any improvements?
Well the audio is way too quiet now and colors look washed out on modern monitors.
It a bit worse now then when I played it originally.

Bethesda relies heavily on the community to fix and improve their own games.

You can improve the game significantly with mods, but it will take a week and won't work right anyway.

Modding Bethesda games is cancerous at this point
* Many mods are incompatible with the current year's re-re-release of this game.
* Many mods have dependency trees that are hard to track down and get working.
* Many mods introduce their own bugs and crashes so you need mods to fix other mods.
* Some mods require you to install massive amounts of bloat and tooling to run. They also break the most.
* LOD (distant land) generation is not automatic and requires you to run and multiple other applications to get working.

The STEP guide for "a very stable game with an enhanced, vanilla experience" is 25 pages of text without expanding sections.
The 2022 Complete Load Order & Basics is 115 pages.

Its incredibly difficult to get a good looking, visually consistent, bug free, no eye bleed filters experience.

Stop it. Get some help. Combine your mods. Combine your tools.
