So this poses a problem. you can't create your own fighter craft, something for the developer to think about.
Okay so the strike craft won't work, after much testing, the componants just arn't big enough to work.

So now that all the ships are converted I will be looking for builders talented enough with the Avorion creative mode to help make these ships come to life, right now they are just a hull

FYI, Custom fighters are at least a planned feature, additio0nally they'll be produced and replaced via their parent vessel
