Airblast isn't overpowered at all. It just gives the pyro a more useful role. Airblast eliminating the pyro's weaknesses is false. Airblast doesn't solve the fact that the pyro can't reliably get kills from any other distances other than close. The only thing that the airblast does is make the pyro more supportive and gives him the chance to survive against good players.
If the pyro manage to kill you with the Axtinguisher, you deserved it. The pyro needs to be at close range to do decent damage. If the pyro isn't at close range, he can't do as much damage as any other offensive classes. There's nothing wrong with letting the pyro be strong at close range.
Can you guess who's to blame if you consistently end up within a 5 meter range of a class whose mobility is restricted to rolling around at Sniper speed?

*Sigh* It's called SECONDARY, Pyros can equip flare guns and that problem is solved. Plus, pyro is faster than a lot of the classes in the game.
Good Soldiers and Demomen are much more mobile than Pyro. And you can dodge flares, they don't do much if you're not on fire.
Detonators can M2 and detonate which makes it much harder to dodge. Demomen don't sticky jump that often due to how much damage it gives them.
Plus it carries the epic amont of 30 base damage.

Every class can run at least as fast as the Pyro but Soldier who has rocketjumps to compensate, Demoman who has stickyjumps or charges to compensate or the Heavy who is the Heavy.

Like I said, the detonator can detonate. It also annoys snipers because you obviously can't shoot straight.
Then Pyro doesn't have poor mobility, he has average.
I'm going to conclude this argument, because I don't like getting into these.
