How would that be simple? You've got copies of executables just sitting on your hard drive wasting space and now you have a batch file too.

If you really have an intention of reverting to the original audio frequently enough to need a batch script to automate it, you're a LOT better off using my mod. 1 change to the INI file and you're back to vanilla audio without any backups.

There is actually a program somewhere on the threads (abandoned now, I think) that applies the patches automatically. That'd be simpler than a batch file, I know it doesn't sound like it - but you have to consider that the patcher solution is future-proof.

I only suggested it because he says you'll eventually have to do the renaming hassle again anyway when doing last missions. It IS simpler to just doubleclick a script once to do all that. But you don't want the script to do renaming, because it can't know for sure which is which and you can end up overwriting wrong exes.

Batch is future proof too, if you do it like:
copy NewEXE\*.* .
and other script:
copy OriginalEXE\*.* .

The batch files just copy the modified executables. You're going to be searching around the Internet for someone to modify the game after each patch, and nobody's going to be doing this because there's a mod that makes it unnecessary.

Did you even read? It is simply NOT the right solution - a match is out of the question as that exe hack is as dirty as hell and wouldn't even be in competition range. And I thought I made it really easy to understand...

As to why? Well, I can think of some things from the top of my head in under a minute:
For compatibility, updates won't break, anti virus won't go crazy / no false positives, the exe is provided by a guy who could inject god knows what (and scans can't detect fuzzy high iteration loops) and clearly has no will to tackle proper modding, for the added fixes, for the added features, for promoting the RIGHT solution?

List could probably go on. You're right though, let's chill. However, let's still not attack others for advising people on using a proper solution, not a cheapo exec hack that has no benefits over the mod, only downsides.

Want a good analogy ? I'm a degreed psychiatrist and psychologist. You clearly need the help of a professional like me to assess the issues that you face with your obvious intolerance towards frustration and pathological need to rub people in.

Fun fact: I played a while using JP voice and it's worse than the english one anyways... Much worse actually (JP guys just can't do deep voices for some reason)

I won't answer to what you said before this point, since it's been a dead horse for some days (sorry, you missed the party).

Just check on Daisuke Gōri (R.I.P), a very famous seiyuu (Japanese V.A) and let him change your mind about that.

Maybe the original voice casting in FF X is not to your taste, but it is the only one that reflects the true ages and personalities the devs intended for the characters.

Kratos' Japanese voice (in Tales of Symphonia) is ludicrously deep. He sounds like some sort of hellspawn demon. So I suppose there are always exceptions to that rule ;)

I very much doubt the voice of auron reflects his age or character. It's just a fake voice to me. No editing involved here, just an actor changing his voice until it almost collapses in on itself.
Currently I'm not happy with Auron and Rikku, Yuna is... ok I guess - Tidus, Wakka and Lulu perform fine though.
I had paused so I'll continue a bit and see if the rest of the cast disappoint as well - then I'll most likely switch.

Regarding that other actor:

But yeah, there most likely are exceptions. Almost all of them are altered and refined with editing anyways. Maybe that's what makes it sound so alien.

Mute the game. My mod can mute it while it's in the background. I could always add an option to mute it permanently.

Shouldn't even need a mod for that. If you go to the volume options in the Esc menu. Can mute voices, sounds, and music independently.

It's a valid question. Ironically there are valid solutions as well, including the one the developers built into the game for that exact reason... maybe they're trolls as well then...
