This list is now maintained on Gitlab. Your help in testing, posting issues there, or updating the readme with new info you find, is greatly appreciated! If you don't have a Vive but want to assist, you can always gift a game to someone who does, like chrix, or myself, or any other Linux users you know who have one.

I'll get on it after that though!

Thanks for this initiative.

I've mentioned this thread here:

If I get SteamVR to work I'll test all VR games I have and report back here.

I've personally confirmed Serious Sam is working. Good performance.

From the top of my head, tabletop simulator has high chances of working already...

I cant try it yet, coz steamvr still crashes for me :(

Is SteamVR crashing or Steam crashing? If it's Steam crashing, some people have had success with switching to not use the Steam Runtime

It doesn't show up in the VR category and I don't see any other binaries in the steam folder. Might there be a command line switch?

I tried both "Universe Sandbox²" and "Rooms: The Unsolvable Puzzle", neither launch in VR.

Of the games that come with the Vive, "Tilt Brush" and "Job Simulator" are unavailable, and "Fantastic Contraption" doesn't have an executable (I did not try the betas).

Other VR games that I have that I will try tonight are "4089", "5089", "Distance", and "Legend of Dungeon".

FYI: Official word from Valve is that disabling the Steam runtime WILL break VR due to special Vulkan libs.

At this point, we should expect that if a game has VR support on Linux, it will invariably be a recent addition with a corresponding announcement. At a minimum, the Linux binaries need to be recompiled with the SteamVR/OpenVR SDK present and the appropriate flags enabled, something that wasn't possible without an insider connection at Valve until earlier this year. In that light, I don't think it's worth our time to investigate beyond a quick peek at the game's newsfeed, but hey, if you want to shoot the moon, go nuts.

QuiVR dev responded
I do not have a Linux Device to test on, but have no issues creating a Linux branch, building blind and letting others see if it works.

I can try to do that for the Demo so Linux users can test without purchasing. However I'd like to wait until Linux SteamVR is out of or close to out of beta.

Job Simulator dev gave an opaque response

Hello there! We haven't announced Linux support for Job Simulator. We'll post an announcement here and on our social media channels if we do!

I take that to mean "we haven't even started to evaluate the possibility yet and don't want to commit to any stance at this time". Given how early it is, I don't blame them.
