Who else has bought a TPcast?.....any issues? questions? lets put them here
I just got mine a few days ago from the microsoft store they actually had them locally. Best 300 bucks ever. Was so sick of the cord getting wrapped around my legs. really helps you concentrate on the game.

My problem with it was the router I found in the box. What a surprise.
Since I have my own, overly overpriced router, and that I cannot use my other pc's on the tpcast router, I had to return it.

@Ketchup
Couldn't you use the 2nd ethernet port on the mainboard or install a networks card in PCIe?

No TPCast for me. I'm waiting for Pimax 8K.

I'm kinda fine with the cable. I managed to use the Vive since release with the cable, I will survive a few more weeks, too.

None of my motherboards of my two pc's have two ethernet ports.
I'm also waiting for pimax 8k. wonder when that releases... I can survive the cable too,
it's the resolution that's horrible at this point.

TPcast is a lot of money to spend on this generation device, waiting on the next iteration rather than spend on this, The cable is fine for now have lived with it since release and its not a big problem, I find the walls of my room a bigger problem than the lead. If it had been £100 then it would have been more tempting.

Yeah, all the way through development they were touting a $150-200 price point, which might have actually been worth it. Huge disappointment when it was finally released at double that price.

Agree.. 150-200 would have been instant purchase.
But you also have to see a 2nd battery pack would most likely be the next purchase you do.

I bought a USB gigabit ethernet adapter to connect the TPcast router to my PC. I also bought a wireless microphone, as TPcast does not support the Vive's. I tried OpenTPcast, but couldn't get it to work. Overall, TPcast seems very stable.

My TPCast refuses to reconnect after a battery change. The display stays dark. Not sure what to do :(

Sorry to hear that. Have you tried closing and restarting the TPcast connection software?

I have but it pops up with all steps blue as if it has done the setup already.

I have had mine for almost 2 weeks. 2 problems. 1. It never works the 1st time after booting. I have to restart the PC and then it works. By never works I mean the Tpcast connects but the Vive VR cannot find the headset. 2. After playing games the windows button on the status bar and the windows key on the keyboard do nothing. I have to ctrl-alt-del to get to a shutdown icon.
Other than that I like it. Decided to go for it after tripping on the cord and falling while playing bowling.

You should look if you have fast boot enabled.

With fast boot your last session will be restored after you boot the PC.

Open the Task manager and look at the Running Time.
Lets say you have it running for 2 hours. If you shut down your system now and then boot it normally, the task manager will now say 2 hours and 1 minute.
Only by pressing RESTART windows will be fully reset when you have fast boot enabled. (Disabling fast boot does also free up some (SSD) space.

One time.my task manager said my system was running for over 4 days... I was like wtf and found out about the fast boot thing lol

Fast boot disabled did not help. Same 2 problems.

So now that Pimax 8K shipping seems delayed to March/April...August/September....whoever knows... I'm on the fence to buy TPCast for the Vive.
lol

I already know it's gonna be a disaster when I get my Pimax and have to use the cable again (ordered the 10m one)

But now it looks like waiting for Pimax is pointless. I have been waiting the whole december for an update - it doesn't seem to ship - now I could just get TPCast. °_°
