[Mod] Money Makes the Wheels Go Round V2
This mod aims the increase the difficulty of two area of the game I find a bit too easy. Banking and Fines.

=== Banking ===

I found that it was too easy to expand quickly because it is very easy to repay the largest loan and make a large profit at the same time. This should change that. You will only be able to take out the largest loan if you have a profitable company. I have also included more options because I felt that just having two was a bit restricting. I've also included a smaller loan amount for short-term emergencies (such as running out of petrol with no cash).

There are now four loan options:
10,000 Euros - 7 days - 10% interest.
100,000 Euros - 14 days - 24% interest
250,000 Euros - 21 days - 26% interest
400,000 Euros - 28 days - 28% interest

=== Fines ===

In the vanilla games, it is very easy to shrug off fines. If you are doing a 25,000 Euro job and you crash into another vehicle it doesn't really matter because a fine of 550 Euros isn't really going to dent your finances much. This mod will change that.

Vehicle Crash - 5,000 Euros - probability of getting caught slightly increased.
Avoid Sleeping - 1,500 Euros - probability of getting caught slightly increased.
Wrong Way - 250 Euros* - probability of getting caught reduced.
Speeding - 1,000 Euros
No Lights at Night - 500 Euros* - probability of getting caught increased.
Running a Red Light - 1,000 Euros - probability of getting caught slightly reduced.

*These a comparitively low because they are easy to do accidentally (e.g. turning at a junction).

It can be downloaded from the official SCS forums:

2 thumbs up! This along with the Real Economy Mod I found should really make the game much more challenging on the financials...tks for this.
Would you be able to make a version that has 5X fines instead of 10X? With the Real Economy Mod I downloaded my earnings are already pretty low, but I think 5X would be high enough to hurt, but not so high to bankrupt me ;)

Blasted through a red light last night by accident and was hit with a 3K fine, but my entire income for taht trip was only $1500...ouch that hurt hehe.

Ouch indeed. That's a ridiculously high fine... especially given that the game mechanics fines you everytime, even when it's not quite red yet! :) Sometimes when not even that fast, it's difficult to stop abruptly if I see the light turn amber near the last minute. It's pretty good for letting you go on ambers, but very easy to slip up.

Ok, I've taken your suggestions into account and generally improved it. Updated to V2! :)
Woot, nice!!! Your changes look great. Tks
If it were me, I'd lower the sleeping fine down. The games mechanics of making you use a proper resting area to me is bogus, so huffing a bigger fine ontop of a bogus game mechanic seems to be a shame since it's often impossible to get to a rest area before that kicks in and fines the player. Just my opinion...

The rest seem okay to me as theire actually pretty close to the economy mod that I've been working on for the past month or so trying to balance.
Ah, I wasn't aware of the need to go to a proper rest stop. In some previous SCS titles you could sleep anywhere if you had a sleeper cab so I assumed it would be the same with this game. I think a few sleeper cabs are included in ETS2 but I've never used them so I don't know how they work. I might change the fine a bit later if I add anything else to the mod.
Yep, it can be a real pain when you are on some of those back country roads with no rest stop for miles and your in need of rest. I have found I need to be extra careful now and plan my rests in advance for long hauls since I installed your mod ;)
