what to do when we are tired

go to a parking lot, shut down the engine and sleep on the special parking space

You need to park yourself in truck parking slot, not light vehicle one. Truck slots are longer. Maneuver yourself into the slot until message on your GPS screen says to hit the key to rest.

It should be noted that truck parking spots may be found in petrol stations, hotel parking lots, mechanic shops, large truck dealers, rest stops, and some job locations like quarries. All of these are marked with a blue "bed" icon in the gps or map display, and some are indicated by a blue sign with the letter "P" in the actual game environment.

apart from the tunnel vision effect, what other penalties are there from tiredness? - I'm sure I lost control on a roundabout, but that might have been just down to me :)

You keep getting fined if you dont rest
