I love the Book of Unwritten Tales, and I've played through the entire game years ago on desktop Linux, using the native release, which ran well for me. But it needs an update for the Steam Deck, and I've read more recent reports of other people having issues on desktop Linux as well. It seems to be choking on the display mode. Even when having the subtitles options enabled, the cinematics have no subtitles. This is a problem for deaf people and also for non-native English speakers (subtitles are very helpful in that case). Are you planning on an update to enable full subtitles?...

Hello everyone. I have some major issues with the game. First i had OpenAL32.dll problem but i got that solved. Finally after i got the game started, there is no sound at all. i put all sliders up for sound but there is none. when i try to launch the game and get into the first scene the game crashes after ivo gets into the screen. When I try to start the game I get this error: An error occurred while updating The Book of Unwritten Tales (missing executable) : /media/Steam/steamapps/common/The Book of Unwritten Tales/bout.sh The bout.sh is actually missing from the folder, only the .exe seems to be there. I verified the integrity of the game files and everything seems fine there, but the game still doesn't start. Any advise on how to run the game on Linux?...
