Update 26.11.12 (?)
Dont know about you guys but the game just updated (5.2mb),
it did affect all of the Doom3 Files (maps, string, exe), not the Doom/II Files.

Anyone knows more?

I see it added FOV and flashlight shadow options in the Doom 3 menus, but not the i'm crashing just seconds after opening these menus...

anyone else experiencing this? or noticing any other changes from the update?

No, sorry... You also missed the [] in system options. I have no idea what that does, the textures are still worse than the original

What does Texture LOD bias do?
Lord Of Dorkness 26 listopada 2012 o 13:52
The game is working for me, but the flashlight shadows are wierd.

ID, that is not how light or darkness works...

*Edit.* On seond look the effect isn't clear in a screenshot, but in my game shadows "cling" to the backs of objects.

Not much point and when you do see it, it looks wierd.

Just updated... now the game is running like crap. Worst graphic and framerate... Antialiasing doesn't work now... really disappointed.
In my option menu i don't have lod bias and my v-sync still is smart.

Anyone figure out what Texture LOD Bias actually does and what direction we should put it?
Dude_Revolution 26 listopada 2012 o 14:51
As you can see Antialiasing doesn't work after the update... Why devs still releasing updates without testing them????????????

I hope they fix this soon..

thought I was the only one. The Antialiasing does not work for me too. Got it set on 16x and was like nothing. Game restart to apply changes and it does not look any different :|

The LoD slider must be lowered (moved to left) in order to increase texture detail + clarity on certain angles and distances (AF), however this increases jagged edges regardless of the chosen antialiasing level..

so: low texture LoD = sharp(er) textures - more jaggies

higher texture LoD = blurry textures - less jaggies

I too am having crashes every time I open the options menu. It doesn't matter if I've loaded a save or not as it will simply crash either way. Of course this only started occurring after the patch today.

@(d20)Iameviland1337 : That's how this game has always done it... I noticed it back when I was able to use shadows for the first time on the original game

I am really wondering what kind of hardware some of you guys are running or attempting to run Doom 3 BFG on. I have a 2.6GHZ Core 2 Duo, 2GBs of ram and a Geforce 8500 GPU, not only is the game running super smooth, but I basically have it cranked up as high as I can that the game actually allows for.

I've seen a few people complain about performance and I just haven't had that issue and since my hardware is kind of old to begin with, I am left wondering what you guys are doing wrong.
