Look for the cave near the Thenn castle once you've found that just heading west till you get to the end of the river then look for the dead tree. If that makes any sense.
The NW part of the lands of always winter has a single wight army. You need to get them to attack you and then once you defeat them that quest is finished.
So is there a set time for the invasion? Or is it completely random within a range? Does the invaision itself become a quest?
You're right, but that still doesn't answer the main question. How do you active the Invasion? And perhaps more importantly, is the Invasion even a thing in this current verison?
As @WOMD stated I also saw it in a video yesterday. The white walkers do come eventually. As far as I can tell I'm pretty sure its a time triggered event. (That would make the most sense). So everyone should get it eventually in this case. But, it will take a long time from what ive seen. Which makes sense as far as where in the timeline the mod is placed and how many days take place between scripted events. For example, if you have static wars you will have a better timeline to follow which I assume will lead to the invaision eventually.
As far as the actual invaision goes. Most of the armies are 400+ wights + 1 White walker. They are extremely hard to take on. But, There is a trick, the first wight horde you fight in the 'Lands of Always Winter' quest has a single white walker. When you defeat him you can take him as a prisoner. Eventually he will be willing to join your army. He is possibly one of the most OP units as there are almost no enemies with valyrian steel or obsidian as far as im aware. Plus he cuts through wights like butter.
More things to note, the youtuber noted that the invaision never really progressed past the wall, which might be specific to his case. So the invaision may be bugged as in that the white walkers might not have a specific goal to complete.
This was the time ingame that the youtuber had the invaision -> 18 of the First Turn 299
