So there is more than one white walker party? Cause I killed the first group with the 3 wrights. That was in day 125. Im now in day 437 and I've spent the last 40 in game days patroling the land of always winter. I even built a garrison near the tree.

welll.....i have to playg with a wiki of fire and ice opened xD, still the quest after kill the white wrights the loot is not droping the white wights gear(if needed to use as proof for quest) nor quest advances, ive tested with cheast and w/o them at the first 2 saves wich was a pain lol...

4am here and still playing, this is becoming a really nice mod.

Stil ive noticed a few small bugs, where i met myself lol... while talking to a free man patrol, and some crash that i didnt even bother to read.

Atm trying to figure why i cant duel my companions nor soldiers.(tab not doing anythingn)

This mod is really really kewl, keep at it.

This is not a commercial project, you can't expect it to be like mirrowind which is designed to cater for everyone.

It's easy enough to find that information on Google but I think OP has a point, whenever a game has you going somewhere uncharted on the map the NPC that gave you the quest should at least say something like "go north/south/east/west of location X".

As for the Lands of Always Winter quest, I'm unable to complete it either. I've met one group of White Walkers which did not count towards it, then walked everywhere north of the wall for almost a week and even waited several days near Thenn but there's no other group. Maybe they're still around somewhere so the quest might be "doable", but yeah it's quite broken. Any White Walker group that the player kills should be counted towards it's progression (if that's even possible, IDK I never modded this game).

I also had issues with the quest to rebuild a castle in Essos, the NPC who gave it left my party and is nowhere to be found. Going to the ruins without him opens no option to rebuild it.

Don't get me wrong I'm just trying to report the bugs I found, really appreciate your project, thank you for ridding me of having to play Cosur's mod. I just wish King's Landing was more polished, there's lot of invisible walls and the main gate is always open during sieges.

Guys to complete This quest u dont need to defeat the whitewalkers.... and dont need to grind to be alowed to buy valeryan steel for now.

After receive the quest from the Lord Commander, gather a few soldiers and engage the whitewalker but DONT start combat, and pull back cowardly to report to the npc that gave the quest.

Its like the episode of the nigh watch 3 man patrol that got sloughthered by the whitewalkers, player wont get burnt^^ if reports to the night watch.

screenshot is in my profile has proof. quest is working.

It makes no difference if he is in your party or not. That quest is not broken, you must not be following it correctly.

Also for kings landing. I dont have the time atm to besiege it several times to find all the issues, but you are welcome to stick the mod in edit mode and alter the scene where needed. You can send me the file and i can include it for 2.0 :)

Mission is definitely bugged. Rerolled a brand new character, because after 450 days no second white walker party showed up. After making a new game I defeated the White Walker party again. Still no mission completion. I created 3 new characters to test it out. No matter how many times I defeated that White Walker party I could not get the mission to update. I even captured the White Walker and sold him to the NW.
Is there supposed to be multiple white walker parties? i only found one and deated it but the white walker it self fled (I did the battle without a valyrian sword) and i cant find anymore. Ive been to all the free folk settlements. How many white walkers are supposed to be about?

I DIDN T FOUND ANY MORE WHITEWALKERS AFTER THE FIRST ONE I KILLED

Having the same problem, I defeat the only white walkers around, the quest doesnt update and no other white walkers show up.

For me ive played around 80 days on it atm and i also cant seem to complete the quest, ive killed the one party i could find so is there more than one? And from what i can see the developer said it's all complete so its confusing.

Okay for everyone having trouble with the Lands of Always Winter quest, you MUST have a small army. How small? Small enough that when after you clear the Wildling cave, the White Walker party you encounter ATTACKS you. THE WHITE WALKER PARTY MUST BE THE ONE TO INITIATE THE BATTLE.

If you chase them with your doomstack of 500 Unsullied or 200 Vale Knights and fight them, YOU WILL NOT COMPLETE THIS QUEST. Now, a Valyrian sword does make things easier, but by fighting the Wildlings in the cave, you can get your hands on some free Obsidian/Dragonglass weapons, and the Free Folk towns nearby do occasionally sell Dragonglass weapons, including an Obisidian/Dragonglass axe, so Valyrian weapons, as Mormont says, are recommended, but not necessary to complete the mission.

After you defeat the White Walker party, you are then notified that you have completed the "Land of Always Winter" quest, and you can then return to Mormont to finish the quest.

Which quests blindly expect you to know where to go?

For the white walker quest, the story is about whitewalkers, it's all explained in the dialogue. So do what he tells you to do. Scout the lands of always winter to see if they are real. Once you have scouted enough white walker parties then a dialogue will tell you and your quest updates.

Other than putting a massive sign over the parties head, how else do you expect me to make it simpler?

I'm sure none of you are actually reading the dialogue. I mean some say you have to complete the cave, where does the cave even get mentioned in the dialogue?

If you guys know how to make it more intuitive without turning it into a tutorial then I'm all ears.
i tried the cave but when i failed the first time i was never able to go back and try again.

@Mango
Thank you so much. I've wasted hours trying to figure out a way to finish the quest. I spent a combined 850 in game days with 3 different characters trying to finish this. Thank you for actually helping and explaining the issue rather than dance around it. You're truly a godsend.

See how many people are having no problems at all? The quest system is perfectly fine.
