If you are good at fighting in small groups or one on one participate in tournaments. if you participate in expert difficulty and bet on yourself you can make 10k+ with betting every time. Of course that's dependent upon you winning. Capturing lords and accepting ransom can be very lucrative but kind of difficult to do starting out.

Still starting out with this mod but this is certainly helping me make some cash:
1) Buy furs in Winterfell and surrounding villages for 80 - 150 stags. You can sell this in almost any other city for 250 - 400 stags.
2) Buy salt in Saltpans, Lord Harroway's Town or Lannisport for 33 - 100 stags, and sell in most other towns for 150 - 250 stags.

A couple of these trips should net you 5000 stags rather quickly.

Building productive enterprises brings in a steady income. Silk brings in the most at about 500 but costs 15000 to start up. I found the best investments to be tanners. Some places, like winterfell, bring in 300-400 for only a 1200 start up cost.

To add on to what Kalbarak said about tournaments some locations, such as King's Landing, have the fighters on horses. Bring a lance with you and I find them easy to win.

If your not above being gamey when I'm at a tournament were some fighters get horses I'll order the people on my team to dismount and take theirs if I don't start out with one.

+1

Be aware that as you buy more of an item the price goes up and as you sell it the price goes down. I wasn't paying attention and lost alot of money that way. The prices reset quickly though so its not a long term issue.
