Got Lakes versus JNR's Savannah
Intro

Some notes on how Got Lakes works with JNR's Savannah mod.

This reference is for Got Lakes v37.1.


Compatibility

Got Lakes is fully compatible with the Jun 8, 2024 version of Savannah.

Got Lakes has a Biodiversity option for contolling whether forests and jungles can spawn on desert, but this option has no direct effect on savannahs. However, it is possible to tune Biodiversity so that a map's deserts contain jungles, forests, and savannahs, in which case the map may contain fewer savannahs than "normal" since jungles and forests are placed first.


Overrides by Got Lakes

Got Lakes has its own feature generator which overrides that of the Savannah mod, but requires the Savannah mod in order to generate savannahs.

Adjustments:
  • Generates savannahs with a latitude-interpolated fractal layer instead of the base-game-like adjacent-tile-count approach that the Savannah mod uses. This allows Got Lakes to create gradual transitions of savannahs across various types of latitude bands.
