A log for when this happens would be very helpful for identifying the problem.

Ok, i accidentally had two instances of starbound installed, i formatted my PC a few months ago, and for whatever reason, even though i specified for steam to run starbound from my backup drive, it installed another version in program files -.-, so i found the log files at least.

So the error from the log matches the on screen error almost exactly, something is wrong with one of the assets in this mod when running from a server, or so it seems.

Could you post the full log, so I can also take a look at the mod's you've got installed?

According to your log, there's a missing animation file for the Trink's racial benefit (the glowing eyes). Problem is, the file that your log is reporting isn't supposed to be an issue since that particular asset path is never used by the mod. The status effect this is related to was moved to a different folder about 13 months ago and has never caused issues for me or most of my testers...

I can think of two things which might be happening here:

One possibility is that another mod is trying to access the old location for that file. If that's the case, whatever mod that is should be updated to use the new file location.

Another possibility is that there's some older save files which somehow got stuck using the old location. I'm not sure if this could even happen since the status effects are, as far as I know, stored by name rather than by file path. If this IS the cause of the issue, I could add a duplicate file to fix these rare issues.

Running the game with only the Elithian Races Mod could tell us more, but that may cause other issues since your save files may be dependent on other mods...

I'll post the full log if it will let me, it's a rather long log. I did try re-installing the mod thinking maybe during the last server update, something went wrong but that didn't help, and now i know why.

Ok to recap. When i setup the server and installed the mods, everything ran fine or so it seemed. The update on the 29th is when the above mentioned problems started happening.
I wiped my universe folder and the servers universe folder, and re-downloaded and uploaded the mod to the server. I retested the situation and got the same results.

Today, i deleted my clientside log and then logged back in to try and re-create the problem and get a smaller log, and everything is working fine..... i'm able to go to the two embassys i know of, checked out one of the ancient race ruins, and a few other elithian locations, all good.

Hmm, that's really odd, yeah... Looking through the log, I can't spot any mods that immediately look like potential incompatibilities. The fact that you managed to get into the outposts without issues later on complicates things further, there's definitely no clear cause thus far.

I'll try adding a duplicate dummy file in the next update. Not the cleanest solution, but hopefully it'll solve future cases of this particular issue until the real cause can be identified!

Can i jump in yalls discord? I feel like i found the missing piece to this puzzle. A few days ago someone under the name "Veran" Logged in, and the server crashed. Because i have mod-miss match allowed ( for whatever stinking reason i cannot get clients to connect otherwise even though the mod layouts are identical) i'm thinking he had old mods, not the right ones, who knows, but i think that is where the problem started, and wasn't resolved untill a few restarts after the universe folder was cleared. That's all i can speculate anyways, confusing issue lol.

the discord isn't limited, so you absolutely can jump in. it sounds like it's a starbound-side issue, though, rather than anything practically fixable by the mod
