Help: Caravan'd to new tile, how to I give pack animal bottle water?

I carried dozens of bottles of water to the new location.

I tried:
I quickly built a Water Bowl, but I can't fill it from bottle water.

I selected animal, to see if I can order it to drink a bottle water that I placed on the ground or from its pack.

And I can't 'feed/tend' the bottle water to the animal either.

None work, at least not that I can see or find.

ps. YES, I can build a simple well ... I suppose, but there should be simple way(s) of giving animals water from bottle waters.
