Suggestion: Stat detail like 'Connected rate' for batteries
Apologies if it's been suggested / not going to be worked on already but I'm interested in the statistics for the water storage / use systems akin to the stats on power 'battery' storage (eg I'm interested in the 'Connected rate / stored' kind details (I know we get stored already) as it would be handy to see what kind of water input rate I'm getting from my towers as well as how fast the water's being sucked out by sprinklers / general use so I can make my storage more efficient (as it is I'm just spamming evenly spaced towers over the water zones 'just in case' so I don't run out )

hmm thats a bit tricky because with power everything just ticks along at a constant rate, all my water stuff gulps specific amounts either instantly or on tick in short bursts so there isn't a rate that you can track

i can show the exact amount of water each thing uses in the description, and in the inspect tab, and i could add a total pumping capacity + total storage value to the inspect string instead of just per tower.

sprinklers use 1000L in total when they spray each morning which takes an hour, the towers show how many liters you can pump per day so its a pretty simple 1000L per day per sprinkler, then other water usage on top of that which is very variable depending on a bunch of things like how often they eat, how hot it is, diseases, the kind of work they are doing and so on, the capacity on the tanks is pretty huge so mainly you just need to make sure its going up not down.

and i added big powered water pumping stations in the next patch which have a wider radius and pump twice as fast so you can stash a few towers inside your base and fill them up easier, or go nuts with sprinklers

Maybe a average per day style might help since you cant do the power style but then they can tell if they need more systems to back out the useage
?"
cheers though I cant wait to try this mod out in my next game :)

I saw about the pumping stations and was impressed with that, and I also understood the 'instant draw' deal with the baths / showers etc etc fudging the numbers going out but figured a 'total incoming water supply' amount would suffice.

Though I was also thinking of it from a 'there can be some pretty wildly changing / instant power draws' too depending on what mods and power using facilities you've got.

Although the average that TallShipSailor mentioned would be more than enough if that was doable, even if it was 'Yesterdays net'.

But even if it was just the basic 'total connected income' so I didn't have to check every individual tower, though I guess your water pump thing will probably fix that issue with having less points of water intake around you base.

water towers go inside your base? I always placed them outside for immersion reasons. Are there any buildings that are supposed to go inside of a base? Would the new pumping station fit this mold?

water towers can go anywhere you want in the current build as long as there is ground water to pump, but in the next build with the new water pumping stations it means that you can shove some towers inside the bounds of your base where they are safe, even if there isn't any water there, and then stick a big pumping station on a remote patch of water to fill them up, sort of like when you plop a geothermal a mile away from your base, all towers/pumps also distribute water evenly so you don't end up with a tower inside the base half empty and one outside the base almost full and then raiders smash the full one and you lose it all.

i have now added loads of extra numbers to the inspect strings in the next build, for water, sewage, heating and cooling, total capacity total storage total heating units all of that good stuff, basically recoded the entire pipe net system at this point

Oh wow, that sounds pretty thorough, can't wait to see it.

Thank you muchly!

oooooh that makes sense. So in addition to being a safeguard against loss of water reserves im assuming the pumping stations are also more durable than water towers. I've yet to see raiders target my towers, even the one thats outside of my walls. Excited for the new updated, you are adding a lot of fun stuff. In this case I'll just swap my towers indoors and have them switch places with the pumping stations
