Need Console Pulling Instructions
I placed the new Console and it decided to move 650 stacks of items from various inventories, including my AA Freezer with perishibles. Are there any detailed instructions to show how to properly use the Console so it doesn't pull from places I do not want it to?

Same problem here. I was happy and keen on the new update and thought it would really make my life easier, but then all my fridges got pulled empty. I do not understand the point of it pulling from fridges as perishables do not last long in a safe. Also another thing I noticed, was it would pull resources that i just put into an upgrade station or a workbench or a chem bench to craft stuff back into their linked safes before the crafting would finish. Hence more than 90% of wanted crafts are not done. It is as if it is set to just pull and fill where told, but there is no "rule" we can edit or change to our own desire.

What you should have done is set up the resource list on the freezer, smithicator, grinder, and every f'ing other thing, and only then enabled the pulling on the console..

And even then, it'll pull from all my other crafting stations.

And getting everything back into the freezer was a job in itself..

To get stuff back in the freezer you can just put one of everything in and add to list, then when console runs it would have pulled it all right back. I'll get a tutorial video up soon for the new system

That's what I thought. Unfortunately that didn't work either :( A manual "Pull now" button would probably help work out these kinks.

Thank you for replying. When the console runs will it leave the contents inside the console for the first 5 minutes and then sort it after it updates or will it automatically sort it immediately?

A bigger concern for me is the inability to stop the console from pulling items from locations that are not AA. I have a separate storage location for all of my saddles. The console pulled all of them. That saddle storage location is not an OCD vault. Is there a way to disable pulling from this storage or do I have to use an OCD vault? If I switch to an OCD vault, will I have to realist saddles of different quality? (Ascendant, Ramshackle, etc)

This also pulled items off my dinos that I didn't want pulled so they would stay in place while wandering is enabled. Is there a way to deselect specific items or dinos?

the console acts as a fridge, but i agree. this update is not great... want the old vaults

Yeah i had vaults that arent AA that store different goods that are pulled to the console. Cant stop it doing it either.

this is a work around, you can put * at the start of the name you dont want AA to pull from, i have tested it and it works. this was some of the older stuff he did, that most people didnt take much off. so if you have a normal vault rename it to " * name " name been what ever. hope this helps you guys and girls. ty blitz for the great mod, still one of my favs!

Only that won't work for all the workbenches and storage that you can't rename :steamsad:

so how do we stop it pulling off of items we don't want things pulled from? the AA snail container doesn't work anymore at all & I can't tell the collector to pull into the container. it pulled absolutely EVERYTHING off my dinos. I don't want to rename everything with an asterisk, because then I can't use the single pull feature in S+ to pull stuff off a specific harvesting dino when I want it to. We have a community base, I don't want the AA collector to pull everything off my personal dinos when I walk in range. How do we get the collector to only pull the stuff we have associated "pull to" settings on?!

I'm afraid that I'd have to agree, the new pulling system does seem somewhat badly implemented in the lack of customisation it offers. The system should be an 'opt in' model, where you choose which items you want the mod to pull and where, not an 'opt out' where everything is pulled by default.

As others have stated I too like to leave some items on my dinos for ease of access out in the field, and neither do I want to go through every dino and chest I have to put an asterisk ahead of their name - aside from being awkward for big bases, it also doesn't look good and conflicts with S+, another mod which many people run.

To be honest, I primarily used this mod for the auto crop tending, egg collecting and snail item gathering, since I preferred this mod's system of doing those things over S+ which requires fuel to run. However since the update it seems that these auto systems have broken as well, and now no longer work as they used to.

I don't want to come across as complaining, that is not my intent. However I will have to be honest when I say that this latest update does seem to have greatly reduced AA's ergonomics and ease-of-use, and now that it no longer does the main function I was using it for, I might have to look for an alternative instead :(

Bananaman, that's what we used it for as well - farm tending, snail item collections, egg collection & oil collection. I put down a console because I thought that setting it up would fix the auto-collection for those items... instead I'm going to spend the next 2 hours sorting out all the crap it pulled that I didn't expect to have touched. I liked the old AA method of put down the item that would collect that resource & it only would pull that resource from specific places.
@Blitzfire: how do we tell the console NOT to pull from places without having to go around to each indivdual item to opt that in?

Have to say, I really miss being able to tell the OCD Vaults where to pull from.

From what I understand, the new control vault is supposed to be some kind of central hub for item collection; pulling from everywhere, distributing to resource lists in range.

This may be a nice plan assuming that all you build is AA stuff. However, as soon as you combine this with other addons, design flaws pop up; especially in combination with S+, which adds another layer of auto-pull mechanics...

As it is today, we can not use auto-pulling, because blacklisting containers (and dinos!) is not a viable option. Still, we are having a hard time crafting stuff because the AA compost bins hog all our thatch almost instantaneously (should they do that, or should they be linked to the console anyway?)

I'd suggest the following change/fix:
  1. Control console should only pull stuff that is on any resource list in range!
Do not pull meat from dinos unless there is a fridge that wants meat. Do not pull all those saddles, weapons and ammo.
  2. Limit thatch pulling for compost bins to <500 (or customizable)... I really do not see any benefit of hogging enough thath to last the next 5 years...

I have just posted a long post about how to set stuff up but basically, using ~ in the names of stuff helps you set stuff up to run really nice. I know its a little annoying but its worth it. Compost bins pulling thatch, I disable that when I place each one (on wheel) as its very annoying.
