Leader at Max Values, but Grayed Out Confirm Button
Hi folks,

Love the mod, and many thanks for the cotinual support and updates!

Quick question, not sure if the problem is with the base game or if anyone has seen it before, but hoping someone can help. One of my leaders has leveled up, and both of his skills are now at max (Trevor, with trade treaty income and pollution cleanup). Since both skills are at max, the "confirm" button stays greyed out, waiting for me to pick a skill, but clicking on either of them results in nothing (since they're maxed out).

This is popping up at the start of a new turn, so I can't continue past it or skip it. Does anyone know of an alternative, other than going back to a previous save and firing the poor guy? Would rather avoid that because I'd been stuck in a hyperspace anomaly for a while, and my last manual save was a whiiiile back. :)

Thanks for the quick response, Sensei. Sadly, UCP is installed; apologies, I should have listed by mods and load order. For reference, I currently have the following installed, and running in this order:

- 5x
- UCP
- 5x Compatibility Mod
- All Ai + 5x
- Very Slow Research

I tried attaching a screenshot of that and the error, but no dice. For fun's sake, I've gone back and reloaded from several turns back, and the error keeps reproducing itself when Trevor hits lvl 8. At that point, trade treaty max's out at 30% and Pollution cleanup at 50%, with no ability to confirm and continue.

Never use short names in the mods list. Always full names.
This is why i still doubt that you installed UCP, i still think you just subscribed.

Roger on the full names for the future.

In this case, I did unpack the UCP files and install them as directed. The mods listing shows two entried:

- Unofficial Code Patch
- Unofficial Code Patch Steam Workshop

I've always assumed the latter is the subscribed version, so I generally play with that deactivated, while the former is active. For this issue, I activated both to see if it made a difference, and no dice. I took screen shots of the load order with full names; they can be viewed here, along with the leader in question:

For fun's sake, I reloaded multiple times, deactivating each mod individually in order to see if disabling one of them made a difference. Deactivating the "5x UCP Compatibility Mod (5xCPC)" allowed the turn to continue, but only because it eliminated one of the leader's traits and gave him more "room" to level up. Disabling any of the other mods individually had no useful effect.

For the sake of testing, I also recalled the leader. While he's unassigned, he doesn't level and causes no issues. If he gets reassigned to a different planet (wanted to see if it was agnostic of where he was assigned), he immediately levels at the start of the turns he arrives, and causes the same issue.

I'll just fire the leader and keep playing, but figured I'd share what seems to be a tiny and obscure little bug.

I don't think the issue is with an incorrect installation. I think this is because 5x allows much higher leader ranks. This works out fine for leaders with three stats, but leaders with 2 stats max them out before the leader rank maxes out making it impossible to progress since UCP changed leaders to show MAXIMUM when a stat couldn't be upgraded. Prior to that change, you could select a stat to "upgrade" but it wouldn't have an effect and you'd be prompted to upgrade them again the next tun.

Could be solved by ensuring all leaders have three stats or by reducing the max rank leaders can gain.

The issue is caused by the last update. If I'm right, you tried to continue a save file from before version 4.9.0. In that update, the thresholds for leader XP was increased, and if you load the save then your leader's level is updated accordingly, but it doesn't lose the perks you've chosen, which allows you to get more than the maximum allowed number.

The solution is to either fire the leader before they level, or you can download the previous version of 5X and 5XCPC from Nexus mods[www.nexusmods.com] to complete your game normally before starting a new game with the new version.

If you have the save file please post somewhere I can grab. Adding logic to UCP to prevent this sounds like it might be a good idea.

Vaaish - you are correct sir, and seems to be exactly what's happening.

Spud - roger, and you're also correct! I was continuing an old save. I've set population growth to be suuuuper slow, along with research, so the game is running at a epicly slow space with measured expansion. I'm guessing that's why the leaders are leveling higher than usually expected. Knowing what's going on, I'll fire them and just roleplay that they succumbed to old age.

WhatisSol - roger; I'll post a save file tonight when I get home from work.
