Diplomacy and Darloks broken since the Update on the 26th.
hi guys,

i havent quite figured out what is the cause of this, but ever since the update on the 26th my diplomacy screen is completely broken and when creating a game you get an empty race picture when you choose the darloks.

i have the following mods installed:

5x 4.9.0
UCP 6.1a (that mod alone does not cause the issue, diplomacy and darloks work)
5x UCP Compatibility Mod 4.9.0

After some testing the problems seem to start after i subscribe to the 5x and compatibility mod.

so far i have tried completely reinstalling the game, deleting the mods folder in documents and running single addons to determine the cause.

any help would be apreciated, because at the moment playing makes no sense with broken diplomacy screen.

Looks like you have 5X and UCP in.the wrong order. Not sure if that alone js the issue, but its a first idea

my order is 5x, ucp, 5xucp compatibility mod. is that the wrong order?

Verify that you have UCP installed correctly. If you located and ran the java installer according to the directions, then it should skip the WG Labs video and NGD logo on startup, and the UCP number should be displayed on the top right of the main menu.

That is most likely the cause, as the Darloks got a race trait in the last update that requires UCP to work.

hm the ucp never skips or skipped the intro video/pictures in the past or now.
the installer runs, completes and all the files are where they belong, but the videos are still there.

the ucp-version shows in the top right corner.

Chg.0.0.5.8: Improved startup time by reducing loading of assets and skipping fade ins/fade outs. Also tied all the intro videos to the "ShowIntroCinematic" configuration setting. So if for some reason you want to see all the intro videos you can now.

Changed that in 5.8 in case people wanted to see the intro videos.

Ah, I didn't realize that.

Are you using a custom race? If so, did you pick the repulsive trait?

with the diplomacy screen issue the answer is no. i have tested this on 3 different steam accounts with custom races without repulsive trait and on all the diplomacy screen is completely garbled/broken. you dont even see the known races there.

the darlok race picture when setting up a new game is also broken on all 3 accounts (tested it on 4 machines, to make sure the local installation is not at fault).

im quite surprised that noone else is seeing this. i cant imagine that it is just us where its magically broken since the update on the 26th.

maybe i should wait for version 6.2 of the UCP and see if that unbreaks it again?

is this reproduceable with specific settings? like does it happen with standard races? all of them or only one or a few? custom races? what races are in the game?
since i dont really know what i am looking for, you dont really need to answer those questions :D

Can you give me game settings that cause this to you?
Only using 5X and UCP, then galaxy type, size, number of ai, races (random is good enough, since with same settings there should always be the same ones, but if you use random still tell what you get), seed number and so on (basically everything you choose in the lobby)

single player or multi player?

so far i have tried it in single and multiplayer with customized elerian, silicoid and trilarian/darlok

as for the settings it was large clzster galaxy (9 cluster with 9 races).

as for the other participating races. they were always set to random and didnt influence the outcome.

i will now test the simplest of games with default elerian reace and see if it makes any difference.

ok i tried to home in on it by checking out the default races, different galaxytypes and sometimes it seems that there is a diplomacy screen. sometimes its completely broken, just showing some of the screen elements, sometimes it almost looks like normal diplomacy screen but shows myself as bulrathing when in reality im playing elerian.

this happened with any random seed (i tried opening at least 20 games with different seeds). this happens with any galaxy-types and probably with all sizes (only tried circle/miniscule, circle/small cluster/small, cluster/large9. cluster massive).

i asked for exact settings that produce that error so that i can reproduce it... "random" doesnt help.

the screenshot is just a black screen?

i apologize.

the screenshot above is not a black screen. it shows the broken diplomacy screen. just asked a friend to verify it. he sees the proper screenshot as well.

i just created another game which shows me as bulrathi in spite of playing elerian.

i dont know whats wrong, yet. but i am fairly sure the problem is on your computer only.
give ma screenshot from your main menu

obviously my browser was the bad guy, i now can see them with another one

im not aware of any mistakes though. subscribed to all 3 addons on steam workshop, manually ran the installer for UCP in workshop content and then brought the addons in the correct order.

ah forgot to answer your question about single or multiplayer. it happens in both. me and the 3 people i usually play with have the same issue.
