"Turn off Crock Pot" Bug
Saw an earlier comment here about this mod breaking the crock pot in combination with the "Smarter Crock Pot" mod and that the dev couldn't recreate the issue after I had been having it myself, so I did a little trouble shooting and got some info that may or may not help.

For starters this is all on the beta revision preview v201220.

Anyways, I discovered the crock pot was having the same unusable "Turn off Crock Pot" bug and read it might be "Smarter Crock Pot" so I made a quick single player game on DST to test it and it appeared not to be the case. However it seems that the bug is not present if you're simply on a single player DST game rather than a server set up for people to actually join and play on.

This isn't me screaming "It's totally this!" mind you, just a heads up on a little observation I made so you guys can possibly have a look into the cause, love the mod and I'd hate to see people not use it because of a nasty bug.

Cheers, sorry if my wording is hard to understand, and sorry for the massive wall of text. Hope the info helps.

I'm still not entirely sure about this. I recall testing it on more than one server type on the beta without any issues arising from either mod. Not to mention there is no instance of "Turn Off" or turning anything off within The Engineer.
We've tried looking into this but the results seem to always come up empty. Not sure what we can possibly do for whatever may be causing this, at the moment.

I'd wager a guess we have diferent versions of smarter crock pot, maybe. I recall having two smart crock pot mods once cause one of them ended up being disowned or somthing and the new reign update way back when ridding was instituted caused that version to break all other mods. Most of the mods that deal with code use called "old" tend to break when klei does a massive update. The smarter crock pot mod probably is not going to be compatible with engie due to how we use the right click commands to allow engie to upgrade his buildings. There is a loss in translation some where in the base code from klei. Some have an issue, some do not. Since we should all be having the exact same problem with smarter crock pot as the next guy, i would edjucate a guess that there are slightly diferent ones out there that are causeing a problem, or mis updated crock pots, or simply there is a pot gremlin in your comp preventing these two mods from their happily everafter. I can say for sure though engies code is solid and if there is an issue its entirely due to both our mod and crock pot mod trying to use the same method for checking a right click action. Unfortunately there is no other way to safely call a new right click action other than the one we use. So if the smarter crock pot calls for a "return crockpot old" or "return old action" somewhere in the code, then they are going to crash on the rocks cause both of us are wanting to override the "old" right click action. That being said, im still open to what bugs are found. If you would, try useing the crock pot with the wrench equiped, with it dropped on the ground, and with it unequiped in your invo, and unequiped in a backpack, and stored in a chest and tell me what happens each time. These are the methods i used to check against this bug and have yet to have an issue. Lastly please try to copy and post the script error here if you get one when or if it crashes. Thanks, and Cheers.

Never had a crash yet atleast, I've just discontinued use of the Smarter Crock Pot since it's more of a training tool anyways. Glad to see you guys tried to look into it and happy to see a quick response from y'all.

As always keep up the amazing work, if I have any more issues I won't waste time letting y'all know.

Your last sentence makes me think you misunderstand. I encourage you to post any and all issues you may have with the use of our mod. It is never a "waste" of time sharing your findings. That is the reason why we look into these things and ask you to continue to report anything buggy. Please do not think we are ignoring you and i still would like to hear from you testing the above methods on your version and comp. Also if you would can you tell me which crock pot version did you use, Navads or the other one.

Apologies, by "I won't waste time" I meant that I wouldn't wait at all if I ever had an issue, not that I simply would ignore them.

Also I was using Navads.

Ok i was able to get it to do this thing that people have been describing. It says when the mouse is over it left click option is Turn Off Crock Pot, and right click option is Open. This is not a bug in engies code, i have found it in the strings of the smarter crock pot. It calls for right click actions by tagging the crock pot as something else and then asigns it new actions based on what it does. In the case of the crock pot it is calling for new right click actions that are redefining the original actions. We have added new actions without destroying or redefining the original ones. As best as i can tell, smarter crock pot mod needs to be updated, and its right click and left click actions redone.

The smarter crock pot from Nadevill is currently updated as of September 2015. A year ago. As we know alot has changed since then. In order to make these two mods work together, the smarter crock pot mod would need to be brought up to date with Through the Ages klei updates and possibly over hauled to fix the scripting overides.

But this is not me saying they need to fix their stuff, its just me saying the two mods are not compatible due to both of the mods wanting to change right or left click actions.

I have discovered that if you hold down the alt key and try to "Open" the crockpot, it works as it should. This may be a slight workaround for those that must have the smarter crockpot mod going.

Well I gotta commend you for figuring all that out, I'll certainly give the Alt key a try.

To answer your older question, I use mouse and keys.
