I really does look like the Stockpile Ranking is expecting one of it's objects attached to all stockpiles, but hasn't explictly attached them to the ES / ESE familiy of objects and then is not correctly handling them being missing.
I don't think there is anything ES / ESE can do about it. I don't see any resolution other than not running ES and SR together untill Stockpile Ranking patches for ES containers or otherwise handle ES not having the expected SR objects.
The telling lines are the first two - where Stockpile_Ranking.RankComp.GetRanks throws an error because the reference wasn't what it was expecting:
