Mod Conflict
This seems to conflict with EdB Prepare carefully.
I've got a rather large mod list, 100+ if not 200+, and trying to use Prepare Carefully causes game to freeze and eventually crash to desktop if left to try to unfreeze.

Out of trying removing every other mod in the list 1by1 only this one causes, even removing everything but Core, HugsLib, EdB Prepare Carefully, Extended Storage doesn't help, even with this mod list it will still cause the game to freeze and CTD.

I've tried multiple mod lists with trying to remove similar acting mods and removing content mods but after hours of crashes and restarts this is the only mod that causes a hard crash.
Neither several game integrity verifications nor multiple reinstalls didn't help.

The only apparent difference between this barebones list is that it crashes faster when frozen compared to my regular full mod list. Does anyone else have this problem or am I just unlucky?

What happens with ES but no Prepare carefully?

Everything works normally, well it works even with Prepare Carefully if you don't 'prepare carefully'(aka use the mod) but at that point there's no reason to have PC if you just go ahead with regular vanilla random character generation.

It's hard to imagine where the conflict is with these two. How about putting it on the other side in the load order? I.e. having PC above ES if it's below, or vice versa.

Already done it, no change.
Boggles me as well since there shouldn't be any logical conflict between these two.
Only thing I can think of is that some of the storage units added in can't be properly added/shown in the resource tab to spawn alongside your pawns on start.

You can add ES to games no issue. So a bit of a faff but you could start a game, save, then add ES. Other than that I'm out of ideas.

That actually worked, like it took me a long ass while for the game to load the first time around but it works properly, but I doubt I'll bother myself to do it for every playthrough but this works.

So if anyone has the same problem, just load ES after you start the game.

Well that's something at least :)

This is very strange. I've been using the two mods together - not ENTIRELY without issue, because Prepare Carefully does make the game hang for the better part of a minute when invoked(and a comment down the way in the ES main thread suggests that is also an interaction between the two mods), but it DOES then work for me, which means I can use it to pack along some ES containers with my starting kit. I have a fairly extensive mod list, and a number of the mods in it add considerably to the variation in furniture - Expanded Woodworking by adding more materials, but also mods like Tables+ which adds several new furniture items, and thus the mods together add a LOT of new combinations of material type + furniture type. Yet it does, eventually, work for me...

(Also, I realise I'm coming in a bit late to this discussion NOW, but the last new game I started was at about the right time for the discussion above, so it still seems like a potentially relevant data point.)

Yeah Mad Mephit it might be that ES just increases the load time due to all new items added to PC equipment list.
I already have a bit of a lag without ES with all of my other mods but it's 1-2 seconds at most, but with ES added it just goes into frozen loading mode forever, it might be that total amount of things added just overflows game so much that it crashes before it has time to fully load up and open prepare carefully.

ES doesn't add that many distinct items, though, not compared to other furniture/building overhaul mods, so something still seems to be decidedly odd about PC thrashing that much over it (whether or not one's computer manages to get through it before Windows throws in the towel).

I run ES and Prepare Carefully on a near-potato rig and the delay is about 30-sec for me (default settings on world size, etc.)

The 8 ES cotaniers, generally, can be Woody or Metallic, so adding material mods will cause the permutations Prepare Carefully has to calculate to increase.
I dont think this is a mod conflict, but rather your pc can't handle it. I have 140 mods and when I try to go into Prepare Carefully, it frezzes too, but then unfreezes if I leave it alone.

I have a problem using this mod with Extended Storage. Sometimes the droid goes to a food hack, pick up a item, drop it in the groud, pick it up again and put it back in the hack, rinse and repeat in an infinite loop until I draft him or send him to do something else.

I don't know if this is THE MOD CONFLICT thread or is it just for PC related stuff, but I've noticed that Astra Militarum also causes a mod conflict. Letters "r" and "c" disappear and in-game textures are glitched
