So, you clicked on this beause you wanted to be able to play Frackin Universe without breaking your old characters. Here is what you do!

Go right click on starbound in steam and go to properties>local files> browse local files.

Next go to the folder that contains the folder you just opened by clicking that browse local files button and COPY (Not MOVE) that folder to your desktop.

After you have done that, open the folder and figure out if you run a 32bit or 64bit computer.

After deciding that go to the folder that say 32 or 64 in the new copy.

In that will be a application called starbound(because it is starbound). Right click it and create a shortcut and move it to the desktop.

Now you have your second starbound.

Now installing Mods.
You dont use the workshop

for frackin universe, search in your internet browser "Frackin Universe" and click the link for that that is on the chucklefish fourm. On the site will have a download to the mod which you will download and put it into the mods folder in your copied starbound folder.

For FU you need to take the folder in the zip and move it to the mods folder. You will need to name the file FrackinUniverse.

Same thing goes for any other mod. Some files will be .pak files, just move those into the mods folder and your done.

And thats it! I know this was long but that is so you know how to do it and it shows each step.

Now you can play FU without corrupting old characters on accident.

If you want to run a server use the starbound_server application in the 32 or 64 folder.
