Ways to obtain Slime Blob for Gelatinous Armor?
I'm trying to craft a complete set of Gelatinous armor at the Armory. (Which almost seems a bit redundant for my character as she already has a complete Reptile Scale set and that has Acid and Proto protection as well as slightly better stats.) And I don't quite have enough Slime Blob for the whole set. I had enough for the Chest and Greaves, but not enough for the Helm.

At this point, I've forgotten the way(s) in which I got some Slime Blob. I think it very, very rarely drops from certain random monsters.

Looking at the wiki's List of Extractable Items[frackinuniverse.wikia.com], I see that it should be obtainable from the Slime Glob Bush and, at a ratio of 50 to 1, from stacks of Slime Blocks.

However, when I put Slime Blocks in the Extraction Lab, all I get is more Nutrient Paste (which I have no more need of). :steamsad:

I would try to create the Slime Glob Bush via my Gene Design Lab and my collection of genes and other materials. However, one of the ingredients is Avesmingo and that is one of the few crops I have yet to find. If it wasn't for the Avesmingo seeds, though, I think I could do it.

As hard as it is to make, I'm wondering if it is worth the effort for this particular character.

There is a whole biome/world just filled with slime related stuff. Find one of those worlds and you will get more slime then you ever need. They are pretty common around gentle stars, so it should be easy to find the right world.

Heck I have trouble finding the damn giant mobs that drop endomorphic jelly.

I think some of the smaller mobs have a rare chance to drop it. Really just run around murdering ever slime monster you see. I never have to hunt that much for them seen I normally spend my time on slime worlds looking for other stuff, and all the slime based stuff just falls into my lap.

Yup same here.

There is purple slime blocks on Gelatinous planets that you can extract for endomorphic jelly. You don't have to kill giant mobs for it.

Heck, if memory serves I believe you can just dump healing water on regular slime and extract from that. I might be thinking of something else, though.

I wonder if healing water will work on black slime.
Also doesn't that stuff extract into putrid slime?

Officer Hot-Pants remembers correctly:
Healing Water will transform either Slime Globs or Black Slime into Jelly Blocks. The Extraction Lab will yield Endomorphic Jelly from that. Likewise, Healing Water will transform Umbrial Stone into Gelatinous Stone, which Extraction Lab will also use for Endomorphic Jelly.

Now, if I can only find a Slime world to get more Slime Blobs... I still say there should be another way to extract it. Why must Slime Globes extract to Nutrient Paste?

I found a large amount of Jelly blocks yesterday and, back to my base, I tried to extract them with my quantum extractor (I thought It would yield Endomorphic Jelly as a result) but it doesn't extract.

As you can see from the pic, it doesn't extract Jelly blocks. (if it should have started extracting, I wouldn't have had the time to take that pic while still on 1K blocks, as the Quantum Extractor is really fast)

Can someone else try and confirm this so to know if it is intended or it is a bug?

What is a Quantum Extractor and how do we unlock it? I've searched in the Matter Assembler, but I can't find any crafting station or item by that name.

I have created "Extraction Lab Mk II" now, as well as "Mk II Extraction Lab (roof)". Perhaps that's what you're thinking of? When I put Jelly Blocks in (both) Mk II Extraction Labs, I still get Endomorphic Jelly.

But if there is such a thing as a "Quantum Extractor", let me know how to make it and I'll try to process Jelly Blocks in it.

On the other hand, in FU's recent update I see that they overhauled (rewrote?) their code for the Extraction Lab. So if there was a bug before, it may have been fixed already.

It is a end game item that require some rare items to craft. It won't unlock until you get one of the items it needs (that red blood ore stuff that I can never remember the name of that starts with a Q). By the time you can build one of thoses you can pretty much build anything.

It has slightly better yields (in other words you might get 5 of an item instead of 4 for example), and a much faster rate of extraction.
