Although i have no idea if yield also increases the amount of seeds you get per harvest.
If you need a reliable amount of fertilizer its either you build on a strange sea of elder fluid/organic soup or make an organic soup tank. Water pump -> poison reservoir -> organic soup reservoir through pumps n spout and liquid interactions (water + poison = more poison; poison + organic soup = more organic soup)
Better fertilizers will produce better effects.
Once you place a tray, you can also use the Scan tool to get detailed info on its current stats.
Plant growth times are based on the seed. Trays are not faster than normal farming unless you have fertilizers that increase growth speed. Powered Hydro trays are a bit faster, but will be the same speed as a Growing Tray without power.
Harvest time is entirely based on the plant seeds used as the base time (for instance, a plant might have 400-800 seconds per stage, randomly pulled.Another might have 1200-3000 seconds. These are the same times as used in soil), modified by the fertilizers and liquid you use.
They do consume seeds. Thats why you get better fertilizers.
