XS Mech Hard Mode (simple idea for seperate version of mod)
Hey Lophatkao, I Love your mod, always have, and i have been enjoying it for years.

But I was wondering if there was a way to make a separate hard mode for the mod?

In it the cost of repair would be higher. (increased auto-chip consumption?)

That would do a great bit in balancing their use. As it is now it only cost 500 pix to repair any one of these awesome beast, and there are those who pocket many, so there is little in the way of someone just getting in one and steamrolling an entire planet.

But what if the cost were increased to say anywhere from 3k-15k for a full repair. (3k sigma, 15k theta or something like that). It might make things a bit more interesting for the game as a whole as there is little in the way of a money sink. And having an actual cost to your wallet will mean choosing when to deploy or retreat, and the more mechs you use the more you have to spend.

This would be great for roleplaying a mech pilot as having to actually maintain your mech would in my opinion really make the pilot treat his/her mech with care and respect, and cause them to deploy mechs more tactically.

I think this would be great for a sperate version of the mod. I think it could serve as a balance. And if it pleases you you can test even more balance changes without upsetting those who dont like losing out on power on the other version of mod.

yea, the repairing goes by % of total health, not units :/

i actually like this idea alot - always felt autochips are too cheap, maybe for the 'vehicle station' mod im working on now ill change how repair works.. see if i can get it reasonable anyway ;)

Now im really interested in your 'vehicle station' mod. Whats the inside scoop? Is it early developement or far along, what can you tell us about it?

right now its replacement UI for repairo - but supported vehicles will have more options
swap out weapons, armor .. other things i havent thought of yet ;)

for xs mechs changing things will affect what arms, legs and body you visually have

but this also involves making new sprites to match .. and i cant art lol :(

so will take a while before xs 2.0 happens

It sounds like the start of a truly mech centric starbound playthrough, amazing!
So what if in addition to weapons and armor there could be things like

Different generators/energy-management. (low capacity/fast recharge, high capacity/slow recharge, balanced, etc)

Varied types of thrusters/jet packs with different levels of thrust and energy conumption.

For the legs maybe some will have the auto anti-freefall boosters,
and perhaps others where you can have hover legs that work like the hoverbike (that one might need a draw back as it would verymuch be the mobile all-terrain legs, perhaps the removal of flight or increased flight energy consumption?).

Sorry if Ive gotten ahead of myself, im just super excited at the idea.
It sounds fantastic, and however long it takes Im sure it will be well worth the wait.

I really like the idea of this mod, though I almost wish you could add an "ultra hard" version that would update the auto chip cost to 200+ and also alter the mech costs where the Sigma starts at 80k and the rest go up from there. Something like that would make my life <3
