There's not a lot I can do against them

My turrets die instantly

My colonists perish

My walls fall

Kind of a bummer

There's nothing wrong with the mod itself. Like the description says, it's by design. One thing you can try that will probably help you is to get the shield mod for your game. It adds area shields that when setup correctly will give your turrets a much more defensible base and they'll likely do much better.

Yeah maybe I'll have to check that out. I'm still like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thiiiiis every time they show up. It's like "don't fight them until you have their tech!" and I'm like "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I have LMGs and stone walls"

Rush buying a doomsday rocket. Or any rockets. I also like to set up a grass/potato growing zone. Plant. Remove the zone. Then plant trees. Set this "area" up outisde the entrance to your base. Set fire to it when they come. Can be very effective to splitting troops and causing mass injury.

This mod is pretty terrible for balance, its a bit sad some of the diea it introduce are nice. numbers wise is pretty wacky sadly. Sadly some people have this idea of adding huge nummbers to their weapons make them cool. If he reduced all proteciton/damage numbers by 60-80% the mod would be way better.

well i would be content with the damage just set to burn instead of flame, would give a fair chance of defending urself rather than getting shot and run around like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot on falmes.... but u HAVE to get a few weapon mods still... i use RTs Weapons, has that 50cal sniper with a range of 55, fair chance to shoot em up. But its really the fact that they set u on fire with every shot that makes them so damn op.

another tip for survival. watch the orbital merchants. they sometimes carry oc defense rifles or pistols or the particle beams the commandos are using. just one rifle can make the raids far more survivable.

Also if you survive the first raid you're going to be very well armed for the next one. strip any live ones for their bionics and gear too.

If you think those commandos are hard you are a noob.

1) Deadfall traps made out of stone or preferably steel. 10-30 or so will do the job (placed correctly).
2) The aim of those 'fire guns' they have is horrible. Less than 60% on all their weapons....
3) Make sure you force the enemy to go by a small funnel. Makes their range obsolete and you can kill them easier with explosives.
4) Harvest their gear to upgrade automatically into OP colonists with nano suits etc...
