Puppeting/Liberating the Western Roman Empire
I've played this mod several times now; I think it's brilliant because I love scenarios in alternate history. After winning a pretty brutal war against Italy and Germany (with the help of the Allies), I thought it would be cool to liberate Italy and try to re-establish the Western Roman Empire. However, Italy still hated me and already had a war goal justified against me, declaring war shortly after.

I'm not sure if it would be very practical, but would it be possible to maybe have a focus by itself or at the end of one of the trees that could allow a more friendly liberation? I know it seems slightly useless but I think it could make for an interesting game with a modern Roman Empire and could encourage a more aggressive stance against the Allies to take France.

Let me know if this idea seems cool and I wouldn't mind helping with some of the in-game details :)

You could create a "Western Roman Empire" as a nation and use events to create an oob and trigger cores/claims. Its an interesting option but I would want to finish the claims focuses first. I plan to have focuses or events lead the Romaion to conquering all of the former empire.

My stumbling block there is I'm not a big fan of the instant wargoal you get through focuses so I've been pondering a replacement.

If you dislike the instant war goals through focuses you could add a focus similer to the "Polish revanchism" poland gets to justify the war goals quickly. or you could do a focus that couses a "vote" where there is a chance of them peacfully joining you.

I understand; finishing all of the claim focuses would be my priority as well.

I'm not extremely knlowedgeble about the limits of focuses, but maybe if you control all the states required and actually own them, not occupy them, and you have a great deal of political power stored, you can enact an optional focus that allows you to liberate the Western Roman Empire and form a faction.

I'm still learning the limits of HOI4 and how easy everything is, so sorry in advance if this is far too difficult :)
