Try verifying your game files, and make sure you don't have other mods enabled...
It is definitely not something on my end. Most likely a pre-existing error that wasn't caught before. The identical error happened in 2023. I did several tests of different minor races. Anticans and Husnock had the error, Bajorans did not. I tried rolling back about five versions and then the game crashed at startup so couldn't do more tests.
There have been no updates to the mod since December 18th, nor any game updates in that time to cause this, which is why I'm suggesting it's likely something at your end, as other people would be reporting it otherwise if it was a recent update...
The very fact it is happening across multiple versions for you, again, suggests it's something local, such as you still having another active mod that is trying to alter faction names, or that you have corrupted/missing game files that STNH cannot interact with correctly, etc...
Having found another person reporting it back in 2023 just means they encountered a similar problem, it does not instantly mean it's a mod issue...
From what I can tell from older posts, when this happened before it appeared to be some type of problem and corruption with the ship file. I have a clean install (no other mods) and all files verified and its only happening with the Husnock and Anticans so far. If you have doubts, why not run the program yourself and play as the Husnock? In any event, the Developers need to take a look and they have been silent so far.
UPDATE: Completely clean install on a different machine with no other mods - problem persists with "Navy_size" superimposed over the name of the Husnock (and probably other) minor empire. is anyone else getting this error?
It is as if the game loses focus and kicks out, but universally the images of officers begin to fail to show up just beforehand.
This's happened time and again with the game, and since I haven't tweaked the game at all, it is something within the game itself.
The avatar problems have been around for a bit. In general, they get fixed as soon as they are noticed. I am really hoping this mod isn't abandoned at this point as there have no been no replies to the Bugs Report section for some time.
What do you mean by avatar problems, pray tell?
Pictures of the Leaders. James T. Kirk appearing as a bald black man or Riker as a woman, for instance.
Ah, something really odd like that.
Only way I could see *that* as plausible is based on the multiverse idea; combined with the concept of that just because we *are* a certain way as individuals, and will remain so, does not necessarily mean we will *always be* that way, or even *have* to be said way in the first place.
Such changes won't happen in the real world, but it does not follow that we would even have to exist to begin with, so of course we won't necessarily have to be any set way.
What I was talking about was no avatar problem, but a continuing sequence of events that the game constantly kicks out, simple as that. At least not the kind of avatar problem you mentioned.
Welll, while they did increase the maximum size of navies; there is still a maximum size of navies for the whole nation in the game- above that, you get some problems with things like maintence, but if it falls to half that: you do tend to have uprisings problems and official assassination problems.
