Star Trek Infinite: The End for New Horizons?
With the announcement of Star Trek Infinite, the question arises how such a game can be successful when the ST:NH mod exists in parallel?

Do we now have to worry that ST:NH will be kicked out of the workshop and other mod databases because of copyright, so that a licensed product has a better chance of success, or any chance at all?

Yeah no. This is like compairing apples to pineapples. They are both similar, but pineapples are so much more.

This mod covers the entire history of the trek world, from enterprise to Picard. The official paid mod will cover TNG era, maybe a dlc to give us dominion and ds9 and such, same with voyager.

Honestly, not an unreasonable concern. We'll just have to wait and see.

Necroing a dead thread about an already abandoned game, funny. Sad that it happened but Paradox saw they weren't making great ROI on paying paramount for the license so they just let it go and the game will never be completed.

With Infinite now abandoned at least the Stellaris mods can salvage parts of it (music, race portraits, models, event images) for their own use and improvement.
