Form the United Federation of Planets Event discussion
Okay lets talk about this, best stratgies and what the plans for this going forward.

I just determined that the whole event can blow up in your face if you can't get a Coalition to form because you have a race that won't vote for it, and you can't kick them out.

Suggestions?

As for going forward, I like the idea of other races intergrating in after the UFP forms, just like they do in the real ST.

Thanks for this mod and this specific events, even with its faults.

Ok i will try that ASAP. I was actually just trying it but one of the 2 members of the coalation wouldnt let me add the Andorians so then them and the vulcans formed their own coalation. :/
Harel 15 jan, 2017 @ 14:40
Again, you don't need all founders. You need UE, 2 other founders, and another species. So if vulcans/tellarites/Andorians are doing their own thing, get someone else.

That being said, getting the federation is hard work, and surviving the initial transition is too. You should explore early and fast, build relations and work on them to make sure you get a coalition.

So I read through most of this and couldnt find an answer, is it possible to add more members to your federation later in the game? If so how would I go about doing this? Thanks!
BBMACINTIRE 15 jan, 2017 @ 23:09
Oh! Just found the wiki... Saw how. So follow up question! I havent had that option apear for some time now... Is there anyway to invite other members from your coalition? Or perhaps from another colation?
Harel 16 jan, 2017 @ 0:10
Once you have formed the federation, a 'federation council' event will pop periodically. This event allows you, among other things, to start the process of inviting additional species to your federation. This is a LONG, and expensive process, that will require you to spend resources via the council event multiple times over a few years.

Eligable species - ie, species you can invite - must be in a colaition with your federation and have high approval of you.

no luck my side at getting through the xindi event :(
ive reinstalled the whole game and mod, its really weird as the 1st time i played this mod it all worked fine and made it past both probes. this time i recruit the admiral, get both green ticks in my event log but nothing more happens. the admiral and her ship just stay in orbit and i get no more pops up. :(

I am sorry shags. All I can say is that I hope that our next patch will resolve some of your issues. In the mean time, we got some VERY cool events and systems for the Romulans and other major empires. :)

The federation mechanic is working fine for me. I formed UFP some dozen times without problems now, but there is one thing I just don't understand. I can easily form a coalition with any nearby other race, but once I formed one, it gets harder and harder to add new members (because of the negative "xyz is in coalition" modifier).

For example:
During one game I was in coalition with vulcans and could instantly invite denobulan to the coalition. During another game in a similar coalition vulcans opposed to invite denobulans. During a third game they opposed first and after ~20 years finally accepted to inivite denobulans. I guess that is all done by some trigger which represents the vulcan <-> denobulan relationship? Is there any way to find out what or how high the trigger is?
(So basically is there a way for the player to find out why exactly a coalition member is opposing another AI race coalition invitation?)

I totally understand why that mechanic exists and I like it, but it is really annoying to never know what you have to do to get possible coalition members to like each other.
(I don't know if that missing information is a core stellaris problem, because I rarely have an own coalition in vanilla. Just ignore it if its a vanilla problem :) )

Just a note, with 0.9.0 I was able to form the UFP. Great job Devs.

I love this mod so much! It's awesome to be able through the entire history of Star Trek as any species, and makes for some really interesting alternate histories. I'm not sure if this is the place for this question, but it does involve the UFP: once you form the Federation, is there anyway to colonize worlds with your member species other than ones you control? I've formed the UFP, but the Vulcans were the only other species who colonized outside their homeworld, and I'd love to get some Andorians or Tellarite colonies!

That's a good point. I'm tempted to go blunt on this one and just have an event that moves some pops around from Member Worlds to other worlds when the Federation forms (or a new member joins).

I don't know if this would be easy to do technically or not, but another approach might be to just let people use the federation member homeworld spaceports to order up colony ships, the same way we can use sector spaceports.
Start the Federation Event with 5 members in a
coalation ?

Hi all, new player to the mod here.

So I just formed the UFP for the first time, and I note that I don't have control of some member planets (vulcan for example) and I don't have their ship - is this correct ? Mnay thanks in advance
Harel 20 feb, 2017 @ 11:07
This is correct. Yes.
