Am i doing something wrong? (Federation)
I have never had this problem before, but out of curiosity, i can't seem to enter "Discovery era".
Currently 2208. Is that still early? Surely i dont need to do anything for the research to pop do i?

Playing cannon, and slow tech if that makes a huge difference. Also obviously Human's / federation.
Any help would be great! <3

In which sense do you mean "entering the Discovery era"? Do you mean aesthetics, such as uniforms, or ships?

Generally it happens based on tech progression (as I understand it) and not on any given date, so it's most likely that you just haven't unlocked the right tech's to make that transition into Disco uniforms etc, yet...

If it's ships, sometimes there can be a prerequisite tech that's holding up moving forward...

I once had a game where RNG absolutely hated me and I was stuck on the Bonaventure class as my most advanced ship for more than 50 years... I had progressed to the point where my phaser and warp engine tech was too advanced for the class...

Turns out a computer tech was the bottleneck and, once that finally popped up and was researched, I was inundated with all the new ship designs I was missing being available for research... So much so I almost entirely skipped the TOS era and went straight into TMP era designs (Disco wasn't out at the time)....

You are a star!! Thank you! Yeah i was refering to uniforms and ships. I had researched so many techs, and still nothing. I actually ended up starting a new game because i thought it was bugged. I guess i just have to be more patient sometimes lol.

Thank you!

The canon mode ties only the ship hulls to specific years, it doesn't affect any other tech. If you're research heavy (as Federation is), you'll end up reaching a lot of advanced techs and still be restricted to era specific uniforms and ship hulls. Using default settings and canon mode, I ended up having things like quantum torpedoes in my Constitution ships in the mid 2250's.

It's obviously impossible trying to design the mod so you research the canon techs in the appropriate years while still making the gameplay feel freeform and have investing into research make sense. But to get a bit closer to the canon curve, you definitely need to drop the tech research multiplier from the default 1x to maybe 0.5x or even 0.25x.
