USS Franklin Lost
I'm playing as United earth, and have this issue where I lose the USS Franklin.
The USS Franklin is the science ship that I start with when starting a new game.
Now I realize that random events can cause me to lose ships and even entire fleets, thats not the issue.

My issue is that I always and without fail lose the USS Franklin within the first 50-70 years of gameplay and always in the same way, lost while in warp between star systems, the only thing thats random is the location.

Since its my first science ship its also the highest level one at the time so it makes it rather frustrating to lose it as I often use that ship for time sensitive research missions and high level anomalies

That I always lose the same ship in the same way within the same timeframe makes me wonder if either the mod or the game is designed in such a was so that this specific even aways happens.

Is this something thats by design in the mod or the main game, or is it a bug in either?

Nop. Its just canon as in the desease called Star Trek Beyond the USS Franklin is lost as well.

It's part of an event chain. Don't worry, you'll see your scientist again ;)

If you don't want to loose your scientiest, you can put him on another ship to save him

Boo! Beyond was the best Trek movie since First Contact.

I'm actually tempted to add some more variation to the event - different outcomes if you end up with the Human Remnant or Terra Prime rather than United Earth.
