Troubleshooting Tips
If the shield does not seem to be working for you, consider some of these questions and check them to see if they help solve the issue you might seem to be having. They might just solve what you are experiencing, or at least be something worth mentioning in your comment post to detail what you are actually seeing and have tried in attempts to solve it. That will go much further to getting the issue resolved quicker:

- Does it have enough power?
Always make sure that when you add systems like shield blocks, tools, refining and assembly, and so forth, that you have enough power being supplied when they are all running. If you don't, you run the risk of overloading your power sources and systems on the grid will suffer, bringing down shields and slowing other things down or shutting them off completely.

- Is it turned on?
Regardless how silly the question may sound, its not something to overlook when checking for the root cause of the problem. It can be pretty easy when building something to shut a system off and forget to re-activate it later after enough power is available. Or maybe it might have been turned off to remove something with a grinder even.

- Are the shield generators charging and retaining charge?
A great way to check this is by adding a colon symbol, the : to one of your shield generator blocks and checking the "show on hud" box within the control terminal menu. For example,
small shield generator: will show the shield charge status in the block name where you put the colon and will show you where its power is at, assuming you chose to show it on your hud through your antenna block.

- Is damage still getting through the blocks while it is on?
Normally this should not be an issue, but occasionally some weekly game updates have interfered with parts of mods before. Refer to the question just above this one and get it to show on the hud while you fire a weapon at part of the grid to see if the shield value is still going down or staying place while damage is being applied, and check the targeted blocks with your welder often to see if any are effected. The shield block itself can still take direct damage I think from times I've test fired on them so be careful not to hit those or leave them too exposed in builds.

If I think of some others I'll add them to this post later on, but if anyone has some good areas to include for checking and testing I could also add those in the list.
