[Bug] Game stops proceeding if a player quits
Not sure if you are aware of this already; the game does not proceed to the next round if a player ( or more ) quits before the hero selection of that round.
I'm quite sure that's the cause, but not completely sure.

I tried to reproduce the issue, but failed, everything worked fine for me no matter when and how I disconnected/reconnected. The issue is definitely there, but I need clear steps to reproduce in order to fix it.

Not sure if you have to manually update the custom map, but the issue is not yet fixed.
To reproduce;
Try playing as 4, then ask 1 to leave.
The next round where there's only 3 player will stop after "John Doe Wins", the hero selection won't happen.

This bug has been fixed in the recent update.
