SUGGESTIONS
What new features would you like me to include in this mod?

Ideas such as "i want less of x" or "make it easier" will likely not be implemented ;)

One thing which i think is worth adding is an option to enable some form of indication of who is hostile towards you. Especially with some survivors just randomly turning on you. I don't mind that (it actually adds a nice element of uncertainty and distrust imo), but knowing at which point these survivors will be hostile towards me would be nice. I know this is not a "realistic" feature, that is why i am suggesting it being an optional modifier in sandbox mode.

i think making a sandbox option of how many bandits are allowed to spawn at a given time would be great, also making it so no bandits spawn in your house would be nice

If possible. Let AI Humans start fighting each other more. i see it a tiny bit, but more of what is see is a huge 30-40 group of citizens wandering around killing everything in sight

Not sure how practical it is, but if the NPCs could spawn in random buildings, and you simulate them 'looting' by transferring nearby containers into their inventory, it could be cool. You'd have to fight amongst the survivors to get food and supplies and stuff.

I know the mod is called "Day One" but I feel that the game is extremely dead by day two, you'd think there would be at least some civilians still around and possibly a bit more bombing by the military carrying on into the second day (but of course on a far smaller scale)

Add random spawn around the whole map (could be buggy) so the civilians dont spawn around you but in the map you spawn in and are evenly distributed
There should probably be some kind of minimum safe distance / timer before people start spawning in when making a new save; often, isolated houses that should be empty except for you suddenly gain upwards of 2-3 groups of 5 people in them, which is rather jarring.

I realize this is probably a crazy amount of work to suggest, but I think it would be great if the experience lasted a few days, maybe have the option to choose the current sandbox options for each day over a course of like 5 days, with the bombing and spawns by default becoming less over the week. That way you could make your experience suit your own personal preferences, something like light bombing over the whole week or heavy bombing the first night only. Helps make it feel more "alive" and gives more interactions with the sandbox.

I'd just want each NPC to have a name overhead so I can tell who is who and who wants to kill me.

Some way to know who is hostile other than waiting for them to shoot at you would be great

Is it possible for NPCs to drive cars?

I think it would be interesting to have military and police officers trying to set up roadblocks, similar to the “police roadblock random event” on the map, trying to control the situation, and even being hostile to civilians who are carrying firearms, including the player, if he is carrying one. Also, it would be nice to have some civilians running around without any weapons, just scared

Some of the time, friendly NPCs will cluster around the player so closely that it becomes difficult to move. This is true while the player is on foot, but also true while you're in a car. At that point you can't move the car without hurting them. I would suggest friendly NPCs remain at a 2-10m distance if they're going to remain close to the player.

The NPCs could be further away from each other, as they often end up all coming together at once and wiping out all the zombies around them. Something more realistic would be to actually be able to feel the desperation of the civilians, all of them on their own, of course there should still be some groups of survivors out there, but just on a smaller scale than before, it would be a great feature for the mod itself.
