- I LOVE THE BOMBING! I started with a Lousiville spawn and immediately was on the edge of my seat with the siren and the explosions in the distance. Having whole streets blocked by a bombing was cool as hell. I think the fire left behind should actually last a bit longer and spread some more damage. I went straight into a wooded area behind the mall and expected to probably perish in a forest fire. I was really surprised when the flames almost instantly went out.
- Random placement of different NPC's is great. I thought I would be so clever and head to the water line on the edge of LV, only to find a police SUV with 10 soldiers surrounding it! I immediately veered off into the forest only to find that they'd followed me. It was scary as hell seeing them draw down on me and shout stuff. I should also mention this is my first experience with Bandits mod.
-The parts I didn't love... The heatseeking all knowing biker gang. I was so pleased with myself for making it to the farmhouse near LV power station and finally finding a place to let my character sleep. At full exhaustion dude couldn't do much to protect himself. As the sleep time lapse happened, I knew everything was wrong when I saw about 10,000 NPC dialogue lines pop on screen. I went downstairs to find like 30 or so bikers who proceeded to smash my head in and then curse me while smoking all my cigarettes. Why do they know where I am so well?
-I play with a number of QOL mods, nothing too crazy (I don't even use Brita's), but I was immediately smashed over the head with 500+ errors on my first game. I was basically able to know when an NPC had spawned in around me because an error would pop. When I went to look at what the debug log was saying it was this endless chain of something like "NPC moving to deferred location but location equals NULL" This resulted in a lot of bandits getting stuck unable to move. It was very strange... especially considering the next thing.
-How fast are these damn bandits? I was having bandits keep up with my car at 30 mph on foot!
But other than that, I think this mod has amazing potential. It shapes the entire world and changes things drastically. Oh! And to everyone who was griping about it, THE BOMBING DOES STOP! You just have to survive long enough...
