If you haven't played the SNES Version, READ THIS
Much to my pleasure, we are receiving players who have no knowledge of the original. Unfortunately these players tend to have a harder time because they don't know what to expect.

The game tells the story of your magical awakening. You grind your way through various enemies while performing tasks for your mentor spirit Dog.

During the beginning of the game, you will struggle to survive. You are ill equipped and don't have access to gear. The only weapons you find are a gun and a pipe (and you can purchase grenades and health kits).

Eventually more options open up, you gain access to a basic weapons shop, gain the ability to deck, and start awakening your magical abilities.

Its important to note, you can NEVER buy magical spells, you have to earn them through quests. You will not be able to buy spirits, you will need to rely on finding them on the map.

Your character CANNOT deck until you reach a certain point in the game. Until a certain "switch" is thrown, no computers are accessible to your character (though you can hire someone else to do it for you).

If you are importing a character, expect an easy time of the fights. You will not have access to your gear. I recommend against this because you really won't get the proper feel for the game.

If you are creating your own new character, make sure you can hold your own in a fight. Don't waste points on lots of specific weapon types, the only weapons available in the beginning are a pistol and a pipe. Points spent on other weapons WILL hinder you. Don't invest in spellcasting, decking or rigging until you unlock in in game.

One last thing to be aware of - sleeping. In the original game the ONLY time you could redeem karma was when you slept. You will see messages saying you earned karma, but when you look at your character sheet it won't be there. You need to redeem it at a bed before you can spend it!

Hopefully you will enjoy our tribute to a "classic" Super Nintendo game.

Hope you enjoy it! And let us know if (when) you encounter any bugs.
We tried to be as faithful to the original as possible!

Do I have the right version? Or do something wrong? I went to play it an hour ago and it gave me a txt msg saying this was the Alpha version that will have bugs. There were two Jake Armitages too. The one I controlled and the cpu. The txt did mention this would happen if i did something wrong I think about importing a new character (i'm pretty sure I clicked default tho).

At the moment we are at the border between alpha and beta... I want to squash more bugs and properly balance the module before officially leaving alpha. It is playable end to end (despite a few scenes which have descriptions that claim otherwise)

When you start, you should end up in an "about this mod" room which will have a second Jake model if you want to use the "official" sprite (which makes things like disguises not work)

If you are using the steam version, it _should_ be the latest.

Does that help?

Never played the SNES version but always heard great things. Downloaded this today and had a very very quick go. Looking forward to really investing over the next few weeks.
