For balance sake I'd doubt that being an option, it'd have to be manual firing regardless of how the drone itself is done. An auto firing, multi directional, fast moving explosive would be way too powerful. It'd essentially be a remodelled missile launcher and missile until some sort of guided missile is possible.
I have a few ideas personally on how the block could look, but I'm new to the team so it's up the the other guys how it will work and look.
but wasent the whole selling point of the drone weapons their ability to punch through a target multiple times and than keep moving from target to target. From what I understand unless the drone is physically shot down (What weapon would have the precision or power to do this I am not sure) or run out of power. They are completely reuseable and return to the platform that launched them provided they survive combat
I don`t think that its possible to make a drone wich could "punch through a target multiple times [...]" As I know are rockets in Space Engineers just fireable explosives without any other function, which is kind of stupid. Hopefully the devs make possible that the missiles could be remote controlled or just be controlled by GPS.
I think an easy missile function for the drone weapons would be best for now.
Even if that was possible in Space Engineers, I personally wouldn't want it, ridiculously over powered, I'd imagine most servers would either disable it completely or only have it enabled for admins. Missile-esque drones are closest we could get right now.
