Something broke shatterjaw beetles today, I think. Didn't change anything on my end and it worked yesterday. They throw an error on startup:
Full logs if it matters: startup hugslib log[gist.github.com] and runtime hugslib log[gist.github.com]
Experiencing similar. Every single insectoid on the map is flooding logspam.

Steam updated your Biomes! Caverns download, but it did not update your Biomes! Core download, leaving them in an inconsistent state. This happens frequently with Steam, as it will sometimes update some of your mods, but not others. To fix this you can try one of the following options:
* On Steam, right click on RimWorld and click on Properties -> Installed files -> Verify local integrity of game files. This will force an update of all of your mods, ensuring that you have the latest version.
* Unsubscribe from all Biomes! mods and Geological Landforms, wait until Steam finishes updating RImWorld, then resubscribe again to the same mods, and wait until Steam updates RimWorld again.
In the future I would recommend trying the "Verify local integrity of game files" any time that you suddenly notice errors on a save that breaks suddenly right after Steam downloads some mods.
Without a full hugslib log it is difficult to say, but I believe you have the same issue as spessman. Please try doing what I suggested, and report back with a Hugslib log if the issue remains.
On a related note, force-updating the three mods (Unsub/resub, relaunch!) fixed the issue.
Thanks, Steam.
Unrelated but should also be visible in the log I'll link below, but I think there's also problems with taming a truffle mole? I see a lot of errors pointing towards it as well, and I have one designated to be tamed.

There are many weird things in the log going on at the same time, unfortunately. I suspect that you have an older version of Biomes! Caverns, so trying what I suggest here might help: https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/2969748433/6274121610022301362/?tscn=1684267829#c6274121610027738279
Also, that is a regular player log. A hugslib log contains extra information that makes debugging errors easier. If you still get issues after updating mods, could you share a hugslib log instead?
I wasn't able to get the hugslib log, unfortunately. Since the entire player interface breaks, I can't put in any user input--even to access the game menu and enable debug mode. Aggravating, I know, but the best I can do is go into the player log.
I tried verifying the integrity and uninstalling/reinstalling, and neither worked.
Ah, now I see that you mentioned this in the title of your gist, I missed that.
As I mentioned before I can't pinpoint exactly what is causing the interface to break, but I can give some pointers that might help in debugging your modlist:
* The AnimalBehaviours.CompDigWhenHungry exception should have been fixed with the latest release of Biomes! Caverns. Since your log has it, I believe that with the original log you had some out of date mods. Hopefully that specific error went away after you reinstalled the mod.
* Some of the first errors in the log could definitely point out UI issues. The first one is caused by Fluffy's Work Tab. This mod is not getting updates and has known issues. I would recommend switching to [FSF] Complex Jobs.
* Another one of these UI related errors is Room Sense. The latest comment in the steam workshop of that mod shows the same error that you have.
* The final "early UI related error" is caused by Area Unlocker. The color picker feature of this mod has been broken since the 1.4 update, and that will definitely break your UI. I would recommend dropping this mod.
* There are loads of weird errors in the log when you try to load your game. For example, the game cannot find "green shell", which has been defined in Biomes! Core since at least RimWorld 1.1. More worryingly, it cannot find raw fungus, which is vanilla RimWorld. It also fails at loading some ThingComps... I fear that your save might be corrupted; you might want to try what happens in a new game.
* If everything else fails, you can delete your game and mod configurations as that is the only thing that remained after you reinstalled the game.
Please subscribe to the Log Publisher mod linked in the step 1 of the first post and try to generate the log again. It contains extra information that is not included in Player.log that is required to check bugs.
Thanks for your help!

Thank you! There are plenty of errors in the log, but unfortunately none of them clearly points to the item filter menu. I also could not see any mods that modify this. Kessinger should appear directly in the "Foods" category without being in any of the subcategories, similar to Hay, Kibble and Pemmican.
https://gist.github.com/RadicalShadow/653f428c54cc54b469409df35a78cf79 Player log again, since I still can't upload with HugsLib. The weird ThingDef reference errors are still there for some reason (funnily enough, stuff like raw fungus and green shell actually show up in-game) despite it being a new save. Bright side: I couldn't find the AnimalBehaviours.CompDigWhenHungry exception, so at least the mod being outdated should've been fixed!
