Turret Factories
Running with XAvorion Sectors.

I am curious how Turret Factories work in this. Namely, what Material does the Turret Factory decide it's turrets are made out of?

I've seen a few that are in an area that is like Iron/Titanium/Trinium and the turrets available are all Iron.

If I set up my own sector with turret factory how does the game determine what material the available turrets will be made out of?

For most turrets it's less important, however for Mining Turrets or Salvaging Turrets the material still determines what it can successfully mine from my testing.

From my research in general it seems to prefer whatever the primary/first material of a sector is. So when scanning whatever appears first. There does seem to be some exceptions that I can't figure out though.

The best way to tell is to look at the other stations in the sector if there is any. Whatever the most common turret material sold is is what the Turret Factory will make. So for example if a resource depot is selling mostly Trinium turrets then that is the only material that the turret factory will generate.
That has been my experience as well so far.

Tech level seems to max on turrets at 50, the glitch with being adjacent to the 0,0 sector might still exist, but setting up in the Barrier with the XSotan invasion is server death so meh, haven't bothered to test it.
