I got a few ideas for you to jot down.

Snapping
Add a snapping/magnet system where when the edge of the placeable you're dragging comes close to that of one already placed, it'll snap together cleanly. If you can do this feature, make it toggleable for people.

Resize Blocks
Resize the placeable blocks so they are easily alignable to the grid on the floor (i.e. one block takes up one square of the grid, one takes up a quarter, another takes up four, etc.). This'll make it to where players can plan out building much quicker, much more easily, and much more creatively.

Placeable Countainers
Some people might eventually get real competetive, and as such will want to take on the unlimited wave mode with the mindset of potentially going on forever, and not until they run out of ammo. Adding crates, chests, etc. for storage of ammo and supplies will satisfy these competetive players.

Prefabs & Groups
Here's something I think the really high end builders, like I, would love. The ability to group placeables together and save them as a prefab. For example, I built this awesome tower, but I want to save it for future builds as well. Being able to save it as a schematic or prefab, and then spawn it all together at once it place it as a tower, instead of rebuilding it bit by bit, would save loads of time, and make the gaming experience more replayable and enjoyable.

Doors? & Toggleable Placeables
Placeable doors and cover you can place that can be toggled between states, making room for movement when toggled down, but providing cover when toggled up.

Friendly AI
Simply put. The ability to have friendly bots to help fight off the waves. This would be extremely useful for some players who don't have the internet to do this with friends.


I don't know how hard or easy, or if even all of these are possible, for these to be done. I imagine some would be very doable, while others would be challenging enough to just dismiss as too much work and effort for free for something that might not even work out.
Either way, I just like this mission so much, I'd like to see it grow more as the potential is there. Great work Fess!

@IdealLogic wow, thank you for your ideas! Now I'll try to say something about each topic you touched.

Snapping
Seems like a very complicated feature for me. It will take a lot of time and strength to implement something like this, and I am afraid it may break down FPS if I choose a wrong, bad for perfomance way. Anyway I'll think how to do that. Added in v1.50

Resize Blocks
Sorry, but it's impossible. There is no such script command in Arma engine, resized objects can only be added via addons.

Placeable Countainers
Done.

Prefabs & Groups
Thought about it a lot. I agreed it would be a beautiful feature despite being a complicated task. I will work on it.

Doors? & Toggleable Placeables
Doors we usually see in the game are imposible, because each door is linked to it's building. I haven't seen any 'free' doors, that can be placed independently. As for toggleable objects... Maybe I'll add some kind of movable blocks in the feature, but not now.

Friendly AI
Not a problem! :) Will think about it. Done.

@Fess, thanks for the detailed response. But I want to talk a little more about the block resizing. I don't think it's completely impossible. I acknowledge it is impossible in the scripting of ArmA, but I don't see why it would be impossible through the editting of the actual 3D models through a program like 3DS Max, or maybe even Blender.

Anyways, I'll stop buggin' ya now. If I come across any other ideas or bugs, I'll let you know.

I would also suggest maybe making a variant that allows for more players and then to balance it out has more enemy AI

Having AI in the Mopd would definetly be an Eye opener since several people cant really play this with actualy people,This mod definetly has alot of potential

An easy way to undo placing something would be nice.

This ones simple with three different levels to defend on. Hard time shooting launchers from it though.
