Compatibility Requests
If you have questions about compatibility please check the first two posts in this thread first to see if I've already checked that mod. If not, let me know what kind of compatibility might be needed. You must provide a link to the mod in question; directly to the source code would be appreciated.

For race mods, please encourage the author to write their own compatibility patches. Instructions can be found here[github.com]. If something beyond those patches is needed, let me know and I'll look into it. Also let me know when you encounter a race mod that has the patches already!

As for dates and hookups, since it's a xenotype and not a race, and their ability to participate is based on the presence of a gene rather than being inherent to certain pawn kinds, there's no where to apply age settings. I would suggest asking them to apply whatever fix they used for normal romance to the activities from Way Better Romance.

So in short, the VE team will need to provide compatibility on their side.

I see that you also added a patch for Vanilla Races Expanded - Highmate. Does that mean there's issues with the other Vanilla Expanded Races and I shouldn't have thm with this mod?

Common Sense doesn't touch anything that would interfere with Way Better Romance and Grim Reality makes almost the exact same changes to romance related thoughts as I do. If the differences matter to you, the last one loaded wins.

I have support for VRE Highmates because it introduced romance related mechanics. You can see the exact changes I made in the change notes. The only other VRE mod that would interact with Way Better Romance is Androids; you can see the details of that in the comments above yours.

If I know that a mod is incompatible I will list it as such.

Sorry if this stuff seems like it should be common knowledge, it's been tough for me trying to figure out if/how mods would interfere with each other. As far as I know there are no overlapping features. The integration is that hookups and dates fulfill the romance need, and adding the cheating precepts to my cheating calculations.

However, not sure if this comes from having them both enabled (I like both new interactions and the sexuality system from yours), but I'm getting duplicate negative -1 moodlets "Turned down by X", with differing descriptions. I have quite a few mods including vanilla social interactions expanded, SF grim reality, so it might not actually be from the two romance enhancing mods. Again, not sure.

I think that's just me, "What, am I not pretty enough for a tumble??" is for hookups and "What, can't even give me a chance??" is for dates. I could probably make that more clear.

Can this mod be swapped in place of Rational Romance in an existing colony that is currently using it, or is that just a terrible idea? :D

It should be fine, I've kept def names the same, though there are a few things I deleted. Those will cause harmless one time errors. But all of the C# code is in a different "namespace", so it won't copy over, which includes your settings. Just make sure no one is currently doing a job that comes from Rational Romance (asking for a date/hookup, casual lovin', etc.) and it will be fine.

Oh, I also changed how asexuality works, so your asexual colonists will become aromantic as well. You can use Character Editor to change them to a different variety of asexual if needed.

I have some ideas percolating, but I'm already working a major change that I want to finish first. There's also still some logistics to figure out. So, the verdict is, "definitely happening, but still not sure when."

In the meantime, I would love to get some feedback on how you'd like the mods to interact, especially how orientation should be handled. My insight into the non-binary experience is basically zero. Head to my discord or start a thread here with your thoughts!
